I just got a mail saying OSK from 26th onwards, will provide an interface which would allow users to directly issue orders to Bursa system instead of going through dealers hands. Any thoughts?

I have been using their 'straight-through to Bursa' system since the end of February. I think they must be rolling it out branch by branch....hmm.gif

The system has a slightly different interface and is very fast. I have sometimes keyed in orders and then immediately checked the 'Order Status' to find the transaction completed. If you mis-key or want to cancel or reduce your order - you have virtually no chance of amending your order, so be ultra careful whatever you do... sweat.gif

Also, I have keyed in orders that the system has rejected for no reason. I called my remisier and she told me to re-enter the order, but knowing OSK's record on placing double orders, I was reluctant to do that. So - expect rejected orders for no apparent reason.

Also, the system can end up costing you money. For example, I placed a 'BUY' order yesterday for the afternoon session for a counter at 0.64 (which was the last transacted price). I checked the system and it showed: RECEIVED but did not move to: 'IN MARKET' for about an hour. So I sms'ed my remisier who told me to key in the order again. Well, by the time all this happened, the counter had moved to 0.67. So I had to cancel my original order and re-enter a new order at a higher price so it cost me 3 sen more per share than it need have done if the system worked properly.

But - hey! It's only money, right....? rclxub.gif

Yeah, I never trade online with OSK before, so this is new to me. I normally go through my dealer.

Since I rarely queue for my orders, I wondered how it would affect the queue since other people are still placing their orders via their dealers. I normally assume since I called my dealer to place an order, their terminal is direct to Bursa system therefore it's faster and more reliable. Also they will tell me whenever the order is transacted. So I rarely depend on my online interface other than to check prices and movements.

Does this mean if you place an order yourself through your interface, your remisier is not aware of it? Since it is not through them anymore.

No. That's the joke of the whole system. Without my remisier, I would have been lost - so she is still in the loop - and seems like they are monitoring the trades.
Can you imagine? You key-in a trade and the system shows 'RECEIVED' or 'REJECTED' - but then, nothing happens. Have you traded, or not?

Who are you going to call? The technical support guys at OSK188?? I don't think they will have a clue what your problem is. You will still have to call your remisier to sort out the mess the OSK system creates.

If they try to take the remisier out of the loop (as I suspect they want to do to save costs -lah) it will be even more of a disaster than it is now, 'cos you have no one to assist you IMHO.

For example: I updated my ABP on Monday to reflect the HAIO share split and BI - so my account page would show the correct information. That doesn't work either unless you call tech-support - who change it manually for you and then pretend the system is working correctly. sweat.gif

Wah ok. I never really fully utilised their system since I don't use their interface other than to monitor prices.

So far I only deal with my dealer directly by phone for any trades, since I don't really bother looking at the screen everyday. I just call for an order, and they will update me via phone/sms about whatever. Never tried buying or selling via the online trading interface for OSK even though I have an active account with them.

Thanks for the feedback David. I was just worried that I might have to use the online system without the knowledge of the dealers. I rather have 'human' interactions in my transactions. As long as OSK still allows me to trade with dealers, I have no worries.

Don't worry, I still use OSK for the moment because my remisier is very helpful. Unless he is retired, then I'll switch to another broker firm.

its ok. i got the AGM notification just now. the AGM will be held somewher ard May, then they will decide whether to distribute the 5 sen dividend. If it is approved, the dividend will then only be distribute somewher around may...

i read the guide, and saw pictures in there, shows that the 188OMS is capable of trading(buy/sell) using 188OMS application instead of the web based 188, i was just wondering, is that application premium or paid or what? Because the 188OMS i am using can only see shares price, charts, news, so everytime i want to place an order, i have to go to the web based version to place an order, this is very frustrating, logging in and out between the 188oms, and web based.

This is the application that i want, is this the premium or paid Subscriber version or basic? The application that i am using does not have the Order Status and Trading Pad.
