most of the iphone in malaysia are all unlocked. so that they can "charge" you slightly more ....
if ask your friend to buy, make sure they can bring it back for you.. if you post .. most likely to be tax and lots of procedure to get it out of custom

unlocked price is about 1890 i think... some guy selling in garage thread

Its about 1900-2100 for 8GB ones in Malaysia. It's quite ridiculous expensive for those reaching 2000.

Yep, iPhone is ridiculous expensive but it's a neat piece of technology gadget that's quite different with other Symbian or PDA phones out there.

You really have to feel it & fiddle with it to appreciate iPhone.

part of the appeal is the multi-touch.
part of the appeal is the useful accelerometer.
part of the appeal is the non-intrusive interface.

put them all together and we have one very sexy iPhone...

btw if we consider it as a smart phone, it is not that expensive at all (provided that the price of under RM2000 is already subsidised by AT&T before it is illegally brought into our shores). i mean can we really find a decent smartphone at this price range? nope.
unless if we compare it with Nokia Sabun, then iPhone is really expensive!
btw it's a great phone that never any phone makers come up with.

I'm gonna buy one from US soon and it cost me less than RM1.5k with the 8GB model including a high quality case, screen protector and audio adapter.

HK will be cheaper if Apple officially launched iPhone there. Now most of the iPhones are imported from us and its not expensive. It's just those people overcharged the device.

True, consider this, I paid RM2.3K for a8gb iphone online purchase last February. Then got another 16gb one from the States at USD499 + 8.25% California state tax (USD41) = USD540 * 3.20 (exchange rate) = RM1,728. Added in a incase holster still below RM2K. So it is cheaper to get it from the States if you can get somebody to buy and bring it back for you. Courier is another option but that may set you back some more. thumbup.gif

haha...now considering that unlocking the iPhone is just 1 click away, and the customers has already wise up on the ways to deal with it, they just label the unlocking service as FOC.

oppps, i've seen that somewhere. in total of 7 identical posts.
btw, better open another sales thread in Trade Zone rather than just proceeding through your blog. it may increase your sales though.
