hi there, this is my first post, it seem that I cannot find anywhere in the net to express my unsatisfactory findings about Maxis broadband. I'm using the ZTE600 modem with the power package and I'm using it now. It took me more than 20 minutes to go in my yahoo mail and activate the low yat forum account. I've expressed my feeling in other forums but nothing was done. Today it's about 1 1/2 mths using the maxis broadband. initially it was fun and fine but that was just for two weeks. sad.gif

I'm experiencing the QOS (Quality of service) varies from 6% to 18 %. I never get more than that. you can test this at http://bandwidthmeter.maxis.com.my. The bandwidth for download sometimes drop to < 6kbps and suddenly DC. uweeks....

Today also marked the ninth time calling 1-800-20-2000 and only today I've had the case number given and until now no phone calls recieved from maxis. (and I'm still waiting you see ) If permitted, I could also flash some records since going to photobucket via maxis was hell to slow.

So my word of advice please do not be so confident of maxis broadband since it's not promising at all. I'm sure to terminate their services if they cannot sought my problem.

see, the issue here is, i'm living in an area which is covered by Maxis - which means if i want to have a broadband connection, it HAS to be Maxis, as there's no other alternative at present. Having said that, I don't know what the problem is as they are "investigating" the matter since a couple of days ago (Hotline call redirected to Bradband Team which redirected to Network Team). What is unfair is that we will still have to pay the full fees irregardless of weather we can actually use the service or not. And let's not mention about the whole 15x faster crap + the 18 month (We-know-people-will-not-read-this-goddam-fineprint-anyway-so-let's-scam-them-legally) contract which their sales people will conveniently forget to tell you at time of purchase.

The best form of advertising is word of mouth. Espcially when it comes to something like broadband, so cut the budget for misleading advertising and use it to get your product to work. If it works, and works well, i can promise you people will sign up, AND become loyal advocates for free.

And please change the goddam "on-hold-it's-really-15x-faster-even-my-auntie-says-so" bs to twinkle twinkle little star. peace.

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif , have you seen their advert? maxisbb is meant for kiddies and not for us. Quite surprising when I went to low yat today, the celcom broadband booth is full with ppl and maxisbb seems to be empty? not attractive or maybe they have heard of our bashing and complaints for this MAXshit products. FYI last week those b@5tarD5 put an offer for RM78 for the power package. This for sure will congest the ever congested worst services in the world. rclxub.gif

Okay guys, I've made it clear with maxis. I'm no longer their broadband customer. FYI I still had 16 months to complete the contract but I don't have to pay anything but I lose 1 month + deposit totalling = RM 186.83 for the two months. I don't have a full guarantee that this method will work to others as mine came out very successful in termination process. Here are some of the tips and must be geniune:

1. Call maxis helpline at 1-800-20-2000. If your connecton is bad ask & force them to check whether your coverage is good or bad in your area you're using Maxis Broadband. Give the address and likely your home where you're staying. You must tell him/her that your coverage in the area is very poor. If you have a maxis 3G phone, this will be a bonus because you can test with the signal readings on the screen, 2.5 G is bad.

2. If they decline, call again within 2 hours time or the next day, ask for the same thing all over again. If they agree on your proposal of poor coverage, a case number will be given starting with C and numbers. A technician will be dispatched to your home.

4. When the technician arrived ask him to take both readings inside & out side your house:

Signal reading will divided into SR1 and SR2 (indoor & out door). Ask the technician what are the acceptable values for a good connection. he should be very helpful.

5. Then ask him to carry out speedtest from speedtest.net and izzi.com/speedtest. Save all results and repeat for certain time. Save a copy of the signal coverage from him. (hard copy)

6. Wait about 24 hours to 48 hours for the technician to file in his report to maxis. Then write a letter requesting termination of services. Send one copy as an email to MR Darshan and go to maxis at KLCC counter 17. Just say to them that you want to terminate the services. This should be very quick because if COVERAGE is the problem, no penalty will be imposed and termination process is successful. Thanx. brows.gif
