since this is an optra thread, i think its a gud place 2 ask..

my uncle got a 2nd hand optra, but the ori alloy rims r missing.. its using those ugly black steel wheels (u know, the ones that usually comes wit the spare wheel).. so he wanted 2 change it, if possible wit the original optra rims.. anybody here wants 2 sell theirs, or know of any source thats available??

btw, wats the pcd for optra anyway?? if its hard 2 fins the ori ones, i might try 2 persuade my uncle 2 change 2 some aftermarket sport rims..

so far i dont see any discussion on the items below... perhaps its time we start sharing stuff about the car services and maintenance.

1. Where to source for original GMDAT parts?

2. Where to service and do maintenance (without being chopped)?

3. Possible mod's (interior and exterior)

You can just contact Bro Ahtap for parts. He is one of the most reliable chevy members. He is incharge in sourcing the GM ORIGINAL parts for chevy members from Thailand, Korea or Spore. He will even suggest cheaper alternative depending on yur budget. Parts purchase thru him is much cheaper because he is using chevy's/GM's contact from abroad.

So far.. none of the members ever complaint about his generous help. You can just call him should you require any consultation also. He is happy to help provided he is not occupied at that time.

My advice... Avoid the Sc in PJ or Sunway if you can. You will end up paying than what you should be.

Hi guys, for your information, i got the following information from Cergazam Johor Bahru for my Chevy Optra 1.8 timing belt replacement.

Timing belt $450.00
tensioner a-timing belt $259.20
seal-cr/shf frt $64.90
seal-cm/shf frt $159.20
roller guide $285.40
water pump $793.23
o-ring w/pump $12.60
tensioner a/comp $216.60
v-belt $155.80

spark plug $106.40
air-con filter $116.80
engine oil $98.50
coolant $36.00

Instead of going to Cergazam, you can purchase the above parts and material from Tenaga Jaya (Address: No. 42, Jalan Harimau Tarum, Century Garden 80250, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia, Tel: 07-335 1888) for $1117.00. For the installation, i went to Hawk Tyres at Taman Sentosa, look for a malay guy call fadil, he was an ex-employee from Min Shin. The entire process to replace the timing belt took approx 3 hours.

Thanks for sharing bro. But based on yur quotation on Tenaga Jaya, i can guarantee that the timing belt set are not genuine. the cost is too cheap esp on the oil seal. I change oil seal 3 times and bought from Thailand. The price is already nearly RM300 for 3 pcs. The cheapo one is only RM30 per pc. My mileage is already nearly 240k and expecting 4th major service soon.

You need an expert that can differenciate the parts. We as normal owner not so familiar. Bro Ahtap is one of the guy that expert on this. Just becareful bro. Dont end up buying immitation parts.

Hi jackjackjack, is it a 1.6 or 1.8? if it's a 1.8, RM49k sounds like a steal (car only 2 years old). Major problems are usually electrical, so make sure you find a good workshop with the tech 2 device. Also the ATF for this car is EXTREMELY expensive (unless you're getting the 1.6), so try and find a manual transmission if you can.

Otherwise keep to the maintenance schedule and it's a good car.

Hi, thanks for the advice. It's 1.6, does it worth RM49K? BTW, what is ATF?
