Normally Hifi stuff depreciate fast. Second hand items normally costs 50-70% of new item depending on age (and new launch).

Questions is how much value to declare? Will the malaysia customs trust if my seller in singapore say the Hifi set is only SGD 400 (for a SGD 1,000) item.

wow...if u have the opportunity to look at the tax list...the book is way thicker than most english college dictionary. That's why those retired excise officers get offer from logistic companies; some items are taxed less when declared under different category. There's an art in custom declaration smile.gif

if your item kena tahan go to LCCI . The pos laju office is next to LCCI.

First you identify your item then the kastam will check the item and charge u tax accordingly. All you have to do is pay for it and u get your item.

if u dont pay they will hold it

Anything above RM500 will be tax by kastam.....minimum 10%

so anything you buy declare below RM500.....but have to see the size of the packages. Too big but declare RM500 will cause suspicion.

BPR ????
hahahhh they can accept ur money in the front counter, then u talk abt BPR there ?

Some item is Exclude for TAX :
1. Education purpose. (Depend how you claim, a car ECU can be education (tax Free) and also can be personal use (10%+15%)
2. Marine stuff. (If u purchase something like piston, u can claim it for boat/marine/sea used is tax free, only buy thru Najib have to pay tax smile.gif).
3. Motor Sport. But to much hassle to get the letter.
and few more but i forget lia .....

Just ask the shipped send as SAMPLE, Reject, Warranty Claim, u have high chance don't get tax or very little tax .....

Haha, if this is true I guess his company won't last long, try imagine if someone bought something that cost 2k+ from overseas, the custom tax will be around 1k plus... If his company is going to pay for the tax with less than Rm100 for the courier service charge... I wonder how his company can survive xD

yup, you are so rite.

ofc forwarding agent companies existed for your "convenient sake" but mind u all that do u ask how much they charge? usually they charge quite a big amount too. assume yr shipment only cost rm1k+. due to you appoint them as your agent for handling matter which cost u over 100 (10% of the shipment) and yet this not included the transportation fee to your door step smile.gif

usually trading co will hire such service bcoz their shipment is big and high profit margin smile.gif if u jst buying for self consumed or import some little goods with low profit margin. def unwise to use this way. go to custom and be friendly to them. use yr pr way!!!

haha, nothing can say to settle everything one off lar...

no doubt they might have closerelationship with certain officer. but mind u that the whole department consists of few hundreds ppl and do u think possible they can handle everyone to let go your shipment so easily as you thought?

if your agent GURANTEE you to let go shipment "hassle-free" do let me know who they are... shocking.gif
