if u can afford it, go overseas. germany, japan, america, france or the uk. they have a thriving automotive industry. i'm currently looking for automotive courses too (already got diploma in mechanical engineering). so for me (my diploma is recognised in the uk) the uk is the easiest choice since i should only take 2 years to finish it. for other countries should take longer (not to mention cost more). anyways, i think TAFE college seremban is pretty good for technical courses. it has a diploma in automotive engineering. and has a 2+1 degree in automotive engineering from Liverpool John Moores university. went there on friday to enquire. since ur from spm, taking a diploma isnt that bad i guess. much more IPTS offers diplomas in automotive. kliuc, TOC, despark, and MSI (under unikl) are some i can recall. but some dont offer degrees so u should check if they have any collaborations with any overseas universities to ease application for degree.

anyways good luck (to both of us tongue.gif).

There is no terms as "waste my result" since spm is nothing if compare to the physics and math in Uni level. Didn't you know that spm art stream leavers can also enter engineering course ? Anyway, why don't take A lvl and then get good grades and go for famous uni ?

actually UniKL is more into maintainence.

if u want to do automotive, do the foundation in engineering in UniKL. then pursue your degree for mechanical(automotive) in unikl.

If you can afford overseas education, Germany is a good choice because tuition fees are only EUR500 per semester. That's less than RM3000!

All in all, you need to have about EUR600 per month for living expenses though.

However, there are only a handful of universities which offer english as a medium of teaching for a bachelors degree.

Also, you need A-levels or equivalent to be accepted. Otherwise, you need to enrol in a Studienkolleg first.

well i'm previous TA student..
generally the course that TA provide is good..no doubt..
few point that attracted me to study this course :

1) Short duration
u can straight ahead proceed to advanced diploma offered by city and guils with ur SPM cert..

2) Specialize
Ta offer dis course which is specific about german's technology..this is the advanced technology for passenger cars nowadays..as u can c those car manufactured from german like Merc,BMW or Audi are more advanced.

3) Have both theory and practical
They have both theory and practical lesson..and it is more towards theory..to become a professional diagnostic technician,a good knowledge is required..

juz wondering..is automotive a course for those who cant do well is their exam??
u need alots of physics and science knowledge in order to understand the operation of engine for example carburetor..
it is a quite difficult course even for a 10A student.

I am going to finish my diploma in information system engineering from tarc. But not really interested to continue to study software engineering anymore. I am highly interested in automotive industry and have the basic knowledge in automotive but have no knowledge in institution which provide automotive courses. My dad ask me to go to australia or germany to study automotive but I feel like consulting a counsellor and take their advice first. Anyone know any institution which I can consult regarding my course. I am from Kedah.

The 1st worse impression college on customer service DESPARK

Im a working adult which was interested to studying part time on an automotive courses and trying to send an enquiry through the college website (enquiry column). And in the email I asked them two question only. 1) Do you have any part-time diploma course? 2)Do u have any branch at PJ area. Few hour later, a ladies from that college using h/p replying me through calling my h/p and didn’t mentioned who she are and where are she from…asking hundred question like she are the investigator/police…the conversation as below:

Despark: Hello, you are xxx rite…why are u interested to study in automotive?
Me: May I know who are you and where are you calling from..
Despark: Oh..why? Are you sending out a lot of enquiry?
Me: How I know who are u, as u didn’t tell me who u are. (what the f***, u calling me without introducing yourself and u wanna to talk shit)
Despark: U send us an email regarding u r interested on our courses rite. Can I know how old are you?
Me: Im xx
Despark: Can I know what are you doing now (job)?
Me: Im a xxxxx
Despark: Mind to tell me what company name u r working now.
Me: My company xxxxx, so do your college provide any part time courses???? vmad.gif
Despark: Where are your company? Why do u want to take this diploma course, In fact do u take any SKM before?…
Me: In xxxx, No, im asking u do u have any part-time diploma courses.
Despark: Oh yeah we do have, can I know how do u know us?
Me: Hello...b4 im taking any courses for sure I will doing research, comparison and getting information on all school, so of course I know your college. mad.gif (she tought im from the jungle, commonlah now is 2009…internetlah, still asking a lot of stupid question…I guess she must be a 50yrs old college taukeh soh).
Despark: So maybe u can pay a visit to our college, u can cal our course consultant b4 u come.
Me: Yeah, can I have the address of your college.
Despark: OK I will sms u the address later.(1.00pm)

Until 12hours later I still didn’t receive any sms…I guess this college must be hired someone who worked in CHINAMEN company before…I will never step in and never recommended anyone to study in this DESPARK college and to the college please remember there are not only 1 automotive college in Malaysia!!! Don’t treat your customer like An offender!!!

Thanks for the information but there is NO need to make 3 identical posts (C&P) in one forum.
And I don't mean to disbelieve you, but I would approach your story with possibility that you may make it up to bash Despark. That's just me, I don't mean to offend you.
