It's always better to get identical RAMs, 2 sticks instead of 4.
*
Lazy to sell and get 2x2Gb.. Somemore budget limited..
Maybe just get another 1Gb Value DDR800 Ram and throw in to run Single Channel..

Increase only when FSB is high and makes the system unstable?

Normally I use Small fft + Large fft stress together... If processor not stable.. Either one will show error..

Ish .. I already got bored with my processor.. 3.4Ghz that's all.. I wanna try E4xxx series.. ( Cause low budget to get E6xxx ) ..

Any recommendation?

Aiyo.. Why I so stupid.. Now only realise my motherboard supports Flex memory mode..

Therefore, I no need to find 2x512mb to run Dual Channel.. Just throw in another 1gb RAM will do..

Will flex mode overclock as good as dual channel? sweat.gif

yeah team extreem man.. all the way.. i am not sure whether crucial practices the same thing of having good chips and bad chips in the same bag , but since both team and crucial have the same d9, might as well work out the team instead smile.gif

Added on April 20, 2008, 10:48 amyou can get the 2*2GB kits dude, but u wont find d9's in them. You want OC go for 2*1Gb kits at the moment, you want capacity, go for 2*2Gb kits. Not to say that 2*2Gb cant oc, just that u need to push a lot of Vdimm, i think. Windows 32 will say only 3GB found, but the system will still maximise 4 GB smile.gif

Bsel mods, u do it only if youre experienced, even i dont do it, unless i am psychotic extreem, coz when u do mods like that, u have to be precise on the pins.

Straps i would suggest that u play with your default multipliers.. dont go lower coz of the NB ratios involved.
*
Oh.. 32bit can't detect 4gb but will still use it all... Now only I know.. Thanks for the info.. smile.gif

p/s : My E2160 up for sale .. Who want it can PM me? sweat.gif

Guys, I have a problem here. Please give comment. smile.gif

My OCed rig can run Orthos blend test for several hours without a single error but when I play game. Sometimes I get BSOD - beginning psychical memory dump. What's wrong?

run 3dmark06 looped for a few hours. I suspect your system does not have enough power to run both the oc-ed proc and gc at full load.

Added on April 22, 2008, 10:09 am
oh yea, wait. I dont usually unplug the power supply cord but i do turn off the psu n wall socket switches and discharge the caps 1st. It might be faster the other way but is worth risking burning your mobo?  rolleyes.gif
*
That's what I suspect too but very weird cause previously I can run my 8800gts 320mb OCed for whole day gaming...
8800GTS full load need 285w while 9600GT only draws 215w .. sweat.gif

with the same oc and psu? yea weird, but then it could be that your psu performance itself has dropped due to caps aging.

Or it could be the ram. I had an oc b4 that ran perfectly stable in orthos blend(12 hours), 3dmark06 (6hours) but would cause system hang while playing certain games. After investigating here n there I finally found out thru memtest86 that my ram wasnt fully stable.
*
QUOTE(flatfinger @ Apr 22 2008, 10:14 AM)
well running orthos without error is not 100% will make ur gaming not crashed or get BSOD...
there's several things u might consider..
1- ur gfx driver...most likely this one
2. ur ram...timing to tight or high speed...loosen a bit
3. ur fsb to high..lower it a bit
4. ur vcore at the lowest line...maybe ur proc need more in gaming instead of orthos
*
Thanks for the comment .. I guess the problem is RAM now .. Orthos blend doesn't 100% stress the RAM also ..

mars dun like cheapo proc............ hehe

btw it seems my e2220 like 400 FSB, i'm running it a 425 x 8 now, so far quite stable but the temp is really high, 65+..... wander if the core temp is wrong or i didnt sit my hsf properly
*
How many voltage you pump to ur processor?
Mine is around that temperature too .. Sometimes hit 70c above ...
