Hi there, Anyone know where can I powder coat my Rims? How bout the price? I've heard and ask around but most of the shops just use the normal spray paints.. I'm sure these paints will deteriorate very fast and it will become damn ugly I've read somewhere that powder coating can last very long and will not deteriorate easily like paints.. Though, I really like the Civic 2.0 17inch stock rims..But I dislike the dim gray color of it..Makes the car looks damn lifeless So I thought I could change it to white or something better.. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. This post has been edited by awyongcarl: Mar 11 2008, 10:40 PM

QUOTE(Shawnzz @ Mar 11 2008, 11:28 PM) Try going to paint shop, They will help you alot, as i know, powder coating is is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin." The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. That is very informative! Thank you for your very thorough explanation. By the way, can you tell me the the price for 4 rims roughly? Need to calculate my budget Actually I asked some tyre shops that sell rims, they only can use the normal spray paints which I don't want

QUOTE(nonexno @ Mar 12 2008, 07:09 PM) I was looking to powder coat my rims but realise that there are no one or no shops that does it in Malaysia. Painted my rims with Heap Soon Segambut. Amazing job! No scratch or colour fade after 8 months now. They sandblast your old paint, repaint and heat it in the oven. 4 x 18inch for 430 bucks. Very good workmanship. My rims are BBS and trust them fully to do the repaint. Hmm really? How much for the 17inch then? Can you tell me the exact location? I'm living in Kepong though.
