it already updated as alive for Gilford, Sayoko and Nunnaly even the color of the picture unchanged, please refer to the hand-writing kanji character...not by the colors...

yea, i like that song oso..in fact, i like boku wa, tori ni naru..but after mid till end of part of the actual song sux, which put me off entirely..

actually i think that this is a good ending to the series despite of the fact that it left a lot of things unexplained..

Lelouch is definitely alive!

Final Scene
“Geass is the power of kings, and it will isolate you…Looks like this isn’t the case, right, Lelouch?” said C.C. as she tilt her heads upwards and raised her voice. This implies the cart driver (who conveniently has his face masked and hidden) is Lelouch and C.C. is speaking to him. The final line also means that Lelouch is not alone because he now has C.C. Additionally, he has a promise to keep, that is to make C.C. happy.

Pink paper crane – No reason for C.C. to keep it (and the possibility that she doesn’t know how to make it). It could be a memento of Nunnaly kept by Lelouch, not to mention that Nunnaly is the one who taught Lelouch how to make it.

“The biggest, most undeniable giveaway is the camera work. It is done in a way to purposely draw attention towards the driver, but simultaneously not enough to show who he is and keep his identity hidden. Lelouch has the Code (Either from Charles or C.C.)
Only Code immortals can transfer memories, as such is the case when Nunnaly touched Lelouch and realize what all his plans are about (accompanied by the trademark Geass “zzzng” sound effect).

Consequently, only fully developed Geass users can obtain the Code, which Lelouch is as he has double Geass eyes. This foreshadows that Lelouch is able to receive the Code. He could’ve obtained the code from Charles when he was grabbed by the neck (he doesn’t appear to be in pain when choked).

It is also possible that he obtained the Code from C.C during the 2 month period before his ‘death’.

Jeremiah’s Reaction
As one of Lelouch’s most devoted and loyal subordinates, he seems awfully cheerful and even smirked when he let Zero / Suzaku went pass him to kill Lelouch. It could be that he knows Lelouch’s immortality beforehand.

Show’s Title: Code Geass R2
R2 could imply Lelouch’s new immortal name (like C2). In Japanese, Lelouch Lamperouge is pronounced Rurūshu Ranperūji hence R2.

Code Geass also indicates that Lelouch has now gained both, the immortality Code from Charles and the power of Geass from C.C.

I'll be a laughing man all the way to the bank if Sunrise suddenly decides to mindf*** again and produce an OVA.

I think they are doing episode 26 OVA as i heard in some forum to tell the after math.. yay.. Erm not sure whether this is true but sources say Lelouch is still alive. Check this out.

My take is that Lelouch is alive.
The most obvious reason would be CC calling to Lelouch in the closing scene of the episode. As we can assume CC to be still sane, she must be talking to someone, and that someone would most probably be the driver of the cart: Lelouch would have to be alive.

Second, however, and this is where the others have thought things through, Lelouch is alive because he got his dad’s code. He beckoned the World of C to lend him its powers, and he took Charles’s code before Charles passed on. The reason why Lelouch still has his Geass is because he didn’t take the Code from the same person who gave him his Geass: he took his Geass from CC, and he took his Code from Charles. Thus, he now possesses both immortality and a Geass. This is also a reason that the title is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

To further corroborate this, however, remember that when Nunnally held Lelouch’s hand he transferred his memories to her. CC also did it when Lelouch touched her accidentally back then, so it could be assumed that people with Codes are indeliberate telepaths. This leaves us with both immortals traversing the world for the rest of eternity.

It’s a great end, friends.

1. Charles grabbed Lelouch with his right hand, which had the Geass sigil.
2. Lelouch needed the fully evolved Geass to transfer a code.
3. The code doesn’t appear to activate until someone dies. Hence, why C.C. was wounded when she first inherited her code. Same happened with Charles in the World of C.
4. When Lelouch touched Nunnally, Nunnally got a flash of his memories. This ONLY happens when a high potential Geass user touches someone with the fully evolved Geass.
5. The title of the series is “R2″, which is similar to how “C.C” is pronounced. So Lelouch would be “R.R.” which is Engrish (I presume) for L.L., Lelouch Lamprouge.
6. When C.C. is talking on the wagon, she says “the power of Geass brings loneliness…that’s not quite right is it, Lelouch?” and nods her head in the direction of the wagon driver.

most of them think lelouch is dead.

the rest think it's an open ended ending deliberated by sunrise to mess with the fans.

only a few think he is alive.

Personally, I think he's neither alive nor dead, sunrise is messing with the audience.

i have no problem if he's dead or alive. both are quite possible. but im siding towards alive...

Well, if Lulu got his dad's code, he shouldn't be able to use his Geass anymore what.

In any case the entire R2 is full of dead people coming to life anyway. Orenji, Cornelia, Nunnally, Guilford. So it wouldn't be surprising if Sunrise decided to "resurrect" Lulu with some magical plot device.

what is a high potential geass user mean? Nunally is not a geass user. Anyway I think anyone touching him would get the same result. C.C. also said it that she isn't happy with ppl peeping into her mind, when talking to Suzaku.

With this ending, they can either end Code Geass forever, or start a new season since doubts are flying through our thoughts.
