Me too just signed up for the rm199 package. I think its really a good bargain. 3 mths service + free unlocked e220 modem. Just want to ask, how do you upgrade to 7.2?

happy user here with rm199 free modem package. updated modem with maxis firmware (7.2Mbps) and official dashboard from huawei which is the similar maxis dashboard but without the branding. Getting good speed in klang bukit tinggi, signal strength 95-100%. rclxms.gif

I didnt do and comparison b4 and after firmware and dashboard upgrade, got the modem straight away upgrade. i just like to keep thing updated. biggrin.gif

the dashboard that came with the modem is 'Mobile Connect' and after flashing it will become 'Mobile Partner'. Just uninstall mobile connect b4 you install the mobile partner. I think the mobile partner is much better then mobile connect.

if you use the dashboard from maxis download link, then yes u will have the branding. but i think it will still work with umobile.

if u follow my suggestion to use the 3rd link from huawei download link, then no you won't have any branding.

anyone facing connection problem in klang near bukit tinggi? just now tried to connect but got this error

Error 619. A connection to the remote computer could not be establish.
No signal bar also.

called up cs and they mentioned that the system auto bar my account due to some technical problem. all good now, took them a few minutes to unbar.

i got my december bill yesterday rm121. I called up cs and asked y bcos i subscribed to the rm199 promo package and not supposed to pay anything until feb. he told me that there are billing error. infact i already called up cs in december when i got my oct and nov bill together on the same day and questioned the same thing.. i got very upset about this and had a short quarrel with the cs. that was the reason my line got bared last weekend. anyway, cs promised me next billing will be rectified. i hope so... vmad.gif

yes, its not getting enuf power. use a Y connecting cable and make use of 2 different usb port directly from the laptop, not from a usb hub
