ini kereta perdana saya, why bulb so easy terbakar?

last time lampu brek, this time lampu depan.. earlier this year just tukar yang depan.. this related wiring problem ker?

then accond pun sometime ok sometime not...

after change battery end last year, too many faulty happened
*
what kind or brand of bulb u are using?
cheap ones burn quickly.
also check the connectors, maybe it has pecah2 which shorts the current and cuts/burns the bulb filament.
also, just like Lean said, check ur groundings.

aircond sometimes ok sometime not tu macam mana?
sometimes cold sometimes not? check the blower or compressor
now not cold already? check for leaks and top up the aircond gas

change battery then what kind of fault happen?

I have been seeking for v6 enhance gear console and dashboard panel for some time. Anyone know where can i get this?  icon_question.gif
still able to saw some sellers selling during 2013 but somehow now extinct at 2014? pls help  wink.gif

u can get it from Proton Edar but it will be expensive la.
or u just have to wait and see if someone selling..
maybe someone is getting a digital aircond set from Eterna/Galant, will sell the ori Perdana console..

QUOTE(mrteeheetummytums @ May 5 2014, 08:16 PM)
Whoo perdana club. I inherited a V6 auto with really bad jerking problem, did a overhaul and now its fine, but I still find the gearbox really er, bad. I dunno if its the engine or the transfer case but I feel like the low end torque is not there, especially up a hill. I just did a top overhaul somemore. Haha but at least once u get it to 3.5krpm its all fun biggrin.gif  Is this lack of torque a normal thing for the V6?

Also where's a good workshop around PJ? I want to start getting basic mods depending on budget. I'm thinking stronger brake pads, coilovers or something cause I find the body roll an issue, and maybe better tyres, am currently using continetal mc5s but they're reaching the end of its life.
*
low end torque for NA usually not quite there..
Perdana max torque of 179Nm can only be achieved around 4K rpm, under that, slow la kan..
after u did a top overhaul, did u do tuning to the ECU?
if not, then maybe the AF ratio is not optimum which causes the car not getting the optimum power..

i have frens who have workshops in PJ and Shah Alam.
both are mostly doing Perdanas and they are also own Perdanas.
u can search for the performance items urself and ask the mechanic to install them for u.
stock factory car sure got high level of body roll as the suspension is tuned mostly for ride, not handling.
changing to adjustable suspension with harder springrate, changing the anti-roll bar to thicker and harder rate and changing to lower profile tyres will solve the body roll problem..

Hi bro Neuro,

Just saw this reply from you. Ya i went with Perdana v6 2005 auto. This month is the one year anniversary me getting the car.

Have to say, very happy with it but my gb also starting have jerking when braking.

Still a happy man though.
*
welcome to the club..

gbox jerking?
when does it occur? upshift or downshift? always?

QUOTE(kurty @ May 12 2014, 11:52 AM)
welcome to the club  brows.gif

i also reaching my 1st year with my perdana.

did many things with it, not much on performance, more toward maintenance.
*
stick with regular maintenance.
no need to play towards performance as it will never be enough. haha..

it's maybe the bushing already worn out that might cause the jerking? I thought more on GB problem, will ask my mechanic to see if the bushing already worn out..
*
see first the mountings.
if the mountings are ok, then maybe its a problem from inside the gbox.

u service the gbox using ori Proton ATF SP3?
did u change the ATF filter as well? afraid the filter kotor. so new ATF no use also if filter kotor or blocked.
ur Perdana still hv the ATF cooler? (some kedai takeout other ppl's cooler).

or maybe the clutch already worn out and need a new clutch pack.

or maybe the solenoids in the valvebody tersumbat.

not yet check the mounting..
yes, I service the Gb using ori proton ATF SP3, also change the filter. my perdana is year 2006 enhance, register 2007 , so got the GB cooler

clutch and solenoids in valve body not yet check..
*
well, if u have serviced the gbox like u mentioned, basically hte ATF and filter are new and clean.
then the jerking may be associated with the internals of the gbox.
like i said b4, maybe the clutch or solenoid.
but then, these are my opinion based on what i have experienced b4.
u may want to check with gbox specialist.

FYI, if ur gbox rosak and no gears are moving (gbox 'empty'), then it may be caused by broken torque converter.

QUOTE(tuo850 @ Aug 6 2014, 04:17 PM)
anyway is there any special bushes brand / type you guys recommended?

i buy the 'ori' bushes, it lasted for 15 minute - koyak after first pedal press.....
*
for front and rear, i use full rubber mounting.
for left and right, i use normal/ori mounting.

ok thanks for the info.. will check it later..

just wondering.. full tank for perdana V6 are 65 liter, I manage to get on 600km per full tank, it's normal? or what to do to improve the milage.. already install firestorm booster that I thought might help..

also I think my perdana v6 pickup kinda slow, it's because the body are heavy or just my mind.. I not usual to auto car, usually use manual
*
Perdana tank is 64L.
if 600km for mixed town and hiway, it very good.
previously with my V6 NA auto, i get 7.5-8km/L town, 10.5-11km/L hiway. depending on my right foot.
now with RVR turbo auto, its similar. just a bit lower.

V6 gbox only 4 gears, and the ratio is tall (long ratio).
so the pick up is so-so only. but cruising on hiway is very good.
i think according to the spec 0-100kmh is around 12-13sec.
top speed i got 220kmh.

to improve abit of mileage and power, i sugest installing piggyback ECU like e-manage, AFC neo, etc
to improve further, get manual transmission. power ada, improved FC pon ada.

owh install piggyback ecu to replace current ECU ?
*
No no.

Piggyback ECU is just like the name. It piggybacks on the standard ECU. Connect the piggyback to the standard and the piggyback is programmed to 'cheat' the standard ECU

Standalone ECU is used to replace the standard ECU.

hehehee bro NeuroOne , thx for reply .
i can see that u are the most femes in the thread .
very friendly guy and good knowlegde about car .
this is my first car .
so i totally zero about CAR .
just know fill water fill petrol start and fly . for now laa  sweat.gif
just a standart car . v6 N/a auto .
i bought for 25k . is it worth ? hmm.gif
*
aiyo manade femes. normal je.
maybe bcoz i always replied here kot..
anyway, for a standard 2004 V6 for RM25K, i think its on the high side.
from surveys, i should be around RM20K plus minus RM1-2K.
some ppl are even selling it as low as RM16k.
if its turbo, then maybe can fetch a bit higher price.
donno la, the low price maybe bcoz desperate to sell or car not in good condition.
u bought it from used car or direct owner?
condition ok? ade bunyi2 pelik?

Its good for us laaa as a newbie bcoz have people like u .
not kedekut ilmu , easy to reply  thumbup.gif
btw i do survey a bit about price pv6 in jb area .
i can say a bit high but totally its a very nice car .
takde bunyi pelik2 . smooth condition . nice interior , nice outside look . nice flat number (dua angka)
i take from used car . so far nothing to say yet bcoz don try long distance yet .
so just wanna know latest price convert to manual . siap pasang . estimate price ?
*
if u are satisfied, then no problem la kan.
maybe JB price is like that..

conversion to manual gbox may cost u about RM4K to RM5K.
code 222 fwd gbox is a bit cheaper than code 312 fwd gbox.
code 222 is tall ratio - better cruising (lower rpm)
code 312 is short ratio - faster acceleration

Hi all mastas dan sifoos. Newbie in the house. Just bought a V6 year 2008 last week, but it was registered on Feb 2010 😄 Mileage was about 51100km only, standard stock. Very2 good condition, everything working just fine as it should be 👍

Had a chance to test it on SKVE today... Quite impressive. Compared with my previous Peugeot 406, these are my score...
Gearbox response : 9/10
Engine noise/perf : 9.5/10
Suspension: 8.5/10
Comfort : 8.5/10
High speed : 9/10
Cornering : 9/10

For an RM31,500 OTR, I really satisfied with it. Just need to replace 1 bulb (low light) & 1 bulb for reverse lamp. But front headlight "sudah kusam" and got water vapor inside when raining...other than that... OK 😁👍 Mohon tunjuk ajar 😄
*
nice to hear u got a good condition Perdana.
and i see u rate it quite high. nice.. hehe..
i just miss the stock standed Perdana with V6 purrr and auto-cruise..

the headlight go "kusam" is normal la.
try to polish it first, maybe the kusam is only on the outside.
if not, just buy a new one la.
mine also kusam and bracket patah, but no water vapor.

wanna ask about radiator (water) .
we just fill water in radiator and backup tank .

the question is can we put water+cooling oil ?
(material for machine used in my workplace that we call coolent for engineering cnc machine )
very good material for cool down the heat things .

just a silly question . sorry if im wrong .
*
actually, the best is to fill the radiator with coolant all the way (pre-mixed coolant - coolant yg dah dicairkan).
or fill coolant pekat then top up with water.
u can get Mitsu pre-mixed coolant in a 4L bottle IINM..
here: http://www.mudah.my/Mitsubishi+Motors+Supe...nt-29056097.htm
or here: http://www.mudah.my/Mitsubishi+Motors+Supe...4L-29637251.htm
(different jenis pre-mixed coolant)

i think to fill it with coolant for other machinery is not adviseable la.
is it compatible with car radiator system?

ooo i see . thanks .
if we use water only still dont give a problem right ?
except radiator is steel material . someday will get rust and "sumbat" .
thanks again bro NeoruOne . thumbup.gif
*
if the water inside ur radiator and reserve tank is still cantik with no or minimal rust, then by all means, use the pre-mixed coolant la.

QUOTE(mozakim @ Sep 22 2014, 04:30 PM)
Hehehee.... the rating just based on my personal expectation wink.gif

Yep,agree with u bro, the "kusam" issue shud be normal with "plastic" type headlamps , my only concern is the water vapor inside both headlamps. Maybe the original sealant kaput already. Need to took out the headlamps, polish it & put new silicon glue, hope can fix the problem.  thumbup.gif
If only V6 has airbag... at least for the driver side, it would be perfect....... huhuhuhu  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
QUOTE(mozakim @ Sep 22 2014, 04:35 PM)
Bro, how much coolant is needed to fill up the V6 radiator? I mean if totally drained-out?  rolleyes.gif
*
for the water vapor, check the ventilation hole behind the headlamp as well.
i dont really know how it effects, but usually aftermarket headlamps will have water vapor compared to original Koito.

as for coolant, i dont really know how much the radiator needs.
sometimes, ppl use bigger radiator like double layer alloy, or galant/eterna TT radiator which is longer.
just buy 2 bottles la and u will have some spare coolant. hehe..

yup. insurance cost depends on the car value and ur NCD. roadtax is rm380 but if u do it at post office, they may charge rm2 fee.

another thing, based on jpj rules, vehicle that has been left idle without insurance or roadtax for some time, may need to go for inspection. but only one year without roadtax/insurance is ok i think..

Just got my Perdana Exec 2009 model. Fuel consumption looks frightening with RM0.30 to RM0.32 sen per kilometre (Ron 95) city driving. Is this normal?
*
my car gets about 8km/L city, 11km/L hiway, with either ron95 or ron97.
so, ur Perdana Exec with heavier body gets that kind of FC, sounds about right.
in fact, any 2.0cc auto transmission car in that generation gets about the same FC..

QUOTE(YJSEE @ Jan 5 2015, 10:38 AM)
Hello guys,

Need some advise on one of the Thing i am confuse for the V6 executive mfg2008

i am going to buy this model of V6 executive under spanco cilvil servant car before this, but when i test drive the ABS light stays on, the salesman told me they will reset it may i know is that ok? what am i suppose to check after i take the car?

Pls kindly advise as i am an automotive noob >.<
*
that's the ABS light.
it should light up when the ABS is working, meaning when u apply emergency braking, the ABS kick-in and the symbol light up to tell u that the ABS is working. u can feel the brake pedal vibrate. the symbol lights up for a while only.

if the symbol stays on, then there's a problem on the ABS system. if u reset it, it stays off for a while, then it will light up again, becoz the problem is not rectified.
sometimes, its just a minor problem such as - dirty sensor. clean the sensors.
or maybe bigger problem like the sensor wire cracked/cut or ABS module rosak.
the ABS module in the engine bay should be protected from water, usually ppl like to wash the engine bay and water sips into the wire connector and causing it to rosak..

u can ask them to plug in diagnostic module/computer and check whats wrong with the ABS system, dont just reset/erase the code..

Thanks NeoroOne for your feedback, will look into it after getting car next week, i bought manufacture 2009 model silver executive, hopefully the performance will satisfy me with the low price i bought smile.gif

By the way, besides the ABS system, what else should i look for when i get the second hand car? I only test drive twice and happy with the gearbox, didnt find any vibration when speed more than 100km/h. so fluid leakage found externally.

Please advise, thanks and appreciate alot smile.gif
*
i think ur question hv been answered few times in here, u can scroll back for more answers.

anyway, do checks basically like any other used car.
ask for test drive. then drive it kaw kaw.
v6 engine is sturdy but the auto gb is kinda weak.
when driving, do hard accelerating and feel if there's any jerking or late gear change.
focus on gear changes between 2nd-3rd (jerking) and 3rd-4th (delay).
then, do hard braking and feel if there's any jerking (when the gbox downshifting).

check under the engine for any leaking. check the mountings, bushings and other 'getah' part.
listen for any weird engine noise, weird noise during cornering, braking, etc.
check power window and other electronics etc.
