maybe you didnt and i took it the wrong way, however redeye definitely did and even included his own lolpic to begin with.

i dont even have any intentions of defending ANYTHING (case in mind would be double 00) but when someone pulls a personal jab on me im definitely not gonna sit there and let them do as they please. its not even about double 00 or gundam, its more towards personal attacks/flaming this time around if you havent notice, and at this point its easy to tell whos pulling the first triggers.

for double 00 itself or any gundam or even any anime, its not even "my series" or "my anime", just an anime that i watch and when people are making false statements of said anime i will tend to correct them. for personal critics and what not, if you've been to the WoW sub-forum by any chance, you will know what i mean as being a resident troll right there i can definitely take critics/insults fairly. that said, this thread/sub-forum is definitely not the place for those though.
even funnier is how wolfx is not even involved in this and somehow just got dragged into it.
*
Fair enough, but since it's more of a personal problem btw you and redeye and it has nothing to do with any Gundam, it's best to let it stop here. Continue if both of you wish to, but do it in via PM and not here ya?

meanwhile, someone is kit bashing an Alvatore... It actually does look decent in MA mode, kinda like a hybrid between the crab-like ValVaro and also the Recarl of GV. But the dumbass legs and the horrendous winged GM wannabe is NO-NO.

^Possibly, but we don't know anything about the Carbine at the moment. I'll post up any information as soon as I can find them, it'll probably take some time as we'll have to wait till the latest chapter is translated.

Currently I think it's just the design of the rifle rather than a silencer/amplifier. There's no sign indicating that it's a removable part nor is it some sort of weapon enhancer. In fact I don't think it's anything special since it's merely a basic rifle. If the Jesta wants more firepower they could possibly use the hyper beam launcher of the ReZeL, provided its reactor can support the output.

Variable firing modes are interesting. The F91's VSBR needs no introduction, while the Sazabi's shot rifle has two barrels for normal shot mode and scattered shotgun blast.

Found some pics of the latest Unicorn Chapter...
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Jesta's head looks seriously badass.. it seems to have the sniper visor of the GM Sniper II in 0080, but the main face looks like the Unicorn's normal mode.

Quebeley mass produced unit in Unicorn? Hm... some one must have been keeping Puru-puru clones alive... And is that another clone or just Marida?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

And found more info about Unicorn... it seems that something weird is happening. The Unicorn activated itself when Barnage piloted it to the original location of the Laplace, which is supposed to be the very first location of the Prime Minister's Admin Centre in space... It started a playback of the first PM's speech, but not sure about the contents of the oration... that'll probably be revealed in the next chapter.

Lots of fanmade Unicorn OP:

This is really cool although very crude. The music sounds like 0083's OP theme.

There's even an ending theme... it looks really good.

That should be the Quebeley mass produced version rather than MKII... Note that it has a central antenna in the middle of the head.
I haven't read Unicorn and I have no info regarding that Puru-puru lookalike character. It could be Marida Cruz, i.e. Ple 12 or maybe she's another clone.

Complete scan of the Jesta... LOVELY. Even more sexy than the Rezel. Now to wait for the translated text to know the details of this commando looking beast.

It's very likely to be true as they are the same pics from the same mag which I posted before. Nothing more to say about the Polygon gundams except how lazy and cluttered their designs are, and the character profiles well I've copied and posted the vaguely translated ones yesterday. You can find them on gunota or /m/ too.

QUOTE(lamely_named @ Jul 9 2008, 12:19 AM)
hey guys, help me name this gundam anime.

I can only vaguely recall some images from a VHS tape. (yes, VHS TAPE!!! Super old gundam anime)

Ok, here goes:

A gundam launches from a mothership in space, it is equipped with extra booster and missile pod, HUGE BOOSTER AND HUGE MISSILE PODS that houses the gundam unit inside, it flies a great distant before encountering the enemy (I think it's a zaku), and it fires it's missile pod. An enemy robot fire hits the missile pod module, so he eject the pod along with the booster, before they explode.

And then came a red robot (enemy), it uses a scythe beam weapon for closed range battle and tries to cut the gundam, the gundam draws his light saber and parry with him.

I remember the missile pod and booster becoz they are HUGE, compared to the gundam, and the gundam is enclosed inside the pod module.

(That's all I can remember. ) tongue.gif

It could be an OVA or movie, coz the animation is very good, despite being a Pre-2000 anime.
*
The only thing similar to what you described was Dendrobium Stamen, but I don't remember any red enemy with scythes... The only red enemy in 0083 was Gerbera Tetra but it only had beam sabres and a sexy beam machine gun.

Unless... it's some Evolve/Igloo episodes or video game cutscene which I've never seen before... In fact it might be the Evolve version of the Stamen, not sure though.

QUOTE(lamely_named @ Jul 9 2008, 06:58 PM)
ahhh, I remembered another scene from the gundam anime I was wondering about.

Guys, help me name this anime.

In this gundam universe, they have developed somekind of doomsday energy capsule, but due to it's complex and costly nature, only a dozen of the capsules are made.

The gundam uses these capsules as ammunition in a special doomsday "shoop da whoop" lazor gun that it fires and annihilate planets/fleets/etc in one shot.

These capsules or Ammo are closely guarded by the government or whatever authority at the time.

Apparently some enemy faction stole a few of these capsules and use them to blow planet up. Stuff like that.

The animation is all 2D but very very crisp. I suspect it's OVA.

So, what is this gundam anime????
*
Dude, are you sure that is Gundam?

I admit I haven't watched ALL gundam series, but your description doesn't fit any kind of gundam, not even Gundam G which is the weirdest around. Annihilating planets doesn't belong to gundam... that's Star Wars.

It can't be an OVA. The only 2D animation OVAs are 08thMST, 0083, 0080, and EW... None of them fits your description.

Maybe my memory is hazy, it's a long time ago.

But I do remember somekind of gundam weapon that blows up entire fleet and sh*t. It's a lazor cannon of somekind that uses special ammunition, rare and highly sort after.

Maybe it didnt blow planet up, but I clearly remember it blowing ships/fleet up in one swipe.

Seriously. It's gundam. I remember that much.
*
A lot of gundam weapons can blow up entire fleets.

Solar System, Solar Ray, Colony Laser, Genesis, Requiem...

QUOTE(sharingan devil @ Jul 11 2008, 08:06 AM)
00... pretty good mecha anime.. but never for me to accept it as GUNDAM...

without the word GUNDAM, it'll never go this far...
hence... I swear I'll not buy any of the 00 goods....
*
I've stopped viewing it as a part of Gundam since a long time ago... and the only thing I would consider buying is the 1/100 Tieren... OMG just look at the details of that kit.

I digress.

However I don't fully agree that the name "Gundam" is the main factor that brought it this far. Sure, being part of the "gundam" franchise undoubtedly helped its publicity, but it does suit the trend of mecha animes nowadays hence its popularity despite being unpalatable for us who grew up loving old school gundams.

Like I always say, 00 is more Code Geass than Gundam. whistling.gif

Anyway, some info from gunota:
QUOTE
"2312 A.D.

4 years since the final battle between Celestial Being and the UN Forces. Humanity, having established the Earth Sphere Federation, forms an independent security preservation force, Arrows, separate from the formal Federation army to further unify nations and the will of mankind. But the reality was the inhumane oppression of anti-government powers, doctrines & ideologies in the name of unity.

Saji Crossroad, who followed the path to becoming a space engineer to keep a promise to Louise Halevy and fulfill a dream, is also compelled to become involved in Federation government reform.

Meanwhile, Setsuna F. Seiei, surviving the final battle 4 years ago, saw the future of the world that had been changed by Celestial Being. With the defeat of guardian Alejandro Corner, he dreamed of a peaceful world without conflict. But before his own eyes was the reality of the continuing strain on peace, the oppression caused by Arrows. He decides once more to fight with Gundam, the power with the potential to change the world.

Where will Setsuna's and Saji's paths take them as the world is set into motion once more?"

Tagline (in contrast to the first season tagline "Rebirth begins through destruction"): "(We will) destroy the rebirth"

Characters:
Setsuna F. Seiei
"21-years-old. A fated child soldier from the Middle East's Republic of Krugis. Saved by the 0 Gundam during that time and became a Gundam Meister with Celestial Being. 4 years after the battle with allied forces, what does he think of as he looks at the world newly unified by the Earth Sphere Federation...?"

Lockon Stratos
"29-years-old. A member of Celestial Being and pilot of the marksman-type Keldim Gundam. Heads into battle with Haro."

Allelujah Haptism
"24-years-old. From the HRL's Superhuman Institute and pilot of the retired Gundam Kyrios. Went missing after the fierce battle with allied forces 4 years ago. He seems to have had a past with super soldier Soma Peries from the same Superhuman Institute..."

Tieria Erde
"Age unknown. Injured in the decisive final battle with allied forces 4 years ago, he was rescued by Celestial Being and did his best in their reconstruction. While he once followed Veda's judgment absolutely, he now looks for the meaning in combat through his own decisions."

Mecha:
GN-0000 00 Gundam
Pilot: Setsuna F. Seiei
"Gundam Exia's successor unit. Its greatest feature is its 2 GN Drives equipped on the shoulders. This allows it to boast particle emisson volumes surpassing all other units."

Keldim Gundam
Pilot: Lockon Stratos
"Gundam Dynames' successor unit. It also supports sniper combat to reflect the characteristics of its pilot."

Arios Gundam
Pilot: Allelujah Haptism
"Gundam Kyrios' successor unit. Similar to the Kyrios, it has the ability to transform. It can be said that it's suited for high-speed movement."

Selavii Gundam
Pilot: Tieria Erde
"Gundam Virtue's successor unit. A heavy armament model similar to the Virtue. Equipped with GN cannons on both shoulders that boast greater firepower than the Virtue. "

QUOTE
- The second season will revolve around an independent security enforcement organization within the Federation called "Arrows" that suppresses anti-Federation elements.

- Setsuna will take on a leadership role.

- Most people aren't aware of the severe oppression of Arrows due to the Federation's complete control of information.

- Lockon died and isn't coming back.

- The show will air in MBS' Sunday 5 pm timeslot starting in October.

Arrows = Titans? Seems pretty much like it.

And see what I meant last time by CB NOT doing the correcting thing in their pursuit for peace? I saw this coming... CB did not bring peace, it merely caused more conflicts, even Setsuna and Tiera felt this way. Let's see what they will do... continue to bang bang pew pew their way and whack everyone perhaps?

The gundam designs... LOL... names are even more LOLOLOL... I won't hide the fact that I detest the funky names, but if they want to use those names at least use it for ALL 4 gundams. Why bother using 00 for Setsuna's and yet use funky names for the remaining 3?

Let the debate begin !!

ok... why I dont admit 00 as GUNDAM is because of the design.

but, in 00.. it's more linfluenced with recent mecha designs (such as code geass, FMP, eureka seven) rather than keeping the 'traditional' aspect.
it's not like I hate the modern mecha design..

Well, Sunrise want to make some different design this time. Cant blame them biggrin.gif
If not, later got more people complaint the design of this MS tiru design of that MS la or something like that (like MS in Gundam Seed/Destiny was). If the design is the criteria, then Turn A will be the one that have the most not-Gundam design (round head and misai)
*
Designs are subjective. A lot of people hated Turn A, but at the same time many loved it. It's a radical design, it's refreshing and unique, but most importantly it is a brilliant design. Just look at how the lines flow into each other to create a streamlined look. It doesn't look like there's a ton of junk strapped on its back or shoulders. And it does emanate the feel of a gundam, heck it should, since Turn A is a Tomino production.

Seed designs were pretty decent. The Duel and Strike were simple and sleek machines, the Blitz looked stealthy and steamlined, the Buster looked like a tank, while the Aegis had a unique transformation unseen in any other gundams. Ginns and Cgues were gritty looking, suitable for grunts. Can't say much about anything that came out after Freedom/Justice though... but Providence looked absolutely badass, the way bosses should be.

I ain't going to talk about GSD and subsequent CE MSVs... We all know how duh they look sweat.gif

All of these doesn't change the fact that the new 00 designs are awkward and cluttered compared to their season 1 counterparts.

Sadly this is the truth since Sunrise owns the rights to make gundam anime.

But that doesn't mean that we should accept any rubbish. Not that I'm saying 00 is rubbish, I don't mean that; but if Sunrise somehows turns hello kitty into gundam would anyone accept that as a gundam?

You get my point.
Currently 00 is a gundam because of it's name... but it's more geass than gundam.

well for me, i think we should think much about the mecha design..just follow the story and you'll like it..i also like to see their mecha and all but for me the main attraction of gundam series is their storyline..and the best storyline of the gundam series is gundam 00 because it is kind of real and follows our world political state..right?..   biggrin.gif

You're living in a dream...

Having the word AD as their timeline doesn't mean it's a good portrayal of the real world. GW 2.0 anyone?

As for 00 having the best storyline, well... to each their own, but surely you haven't been watching other series?

The twin cones can be swiveled to the rear, there seems to be a joint beneath it. But when it does that, it'll be horrendously ugly because the undersides of the L-shaped cone holders will be exposed at the side view... fugly.

I agree with you about the irrelevant junk stuck onto the designs... but we'll see how it turns out to be when it's animated.
