Anyone who wants to have malaysia in their contact just download this pacthed files that i made. Instructions in there. Remember to backup the original plist file first before overwriting.

I got other plist files patched like the number format to follow malaysia's format (not appsupport).

Good stuff, this is awesome!

Thanx frozzbyte !!

yeah ... no worries there...
i just recently went from 112 to 114 (coz the somehow my 112 sync got corrupted, iTunes kept telling me i need to restore) .. so anyways, i've been SSH'ing and puttying like mad whole day yesterday to "re-customize" my 114 iPhone like crazy. hahaha

Terencetoo: Yes, WinSCP is the most convenient way to move files to/from PC to iPhone.

Just make sure u got "BSD Subsystem" or "Cydia filesystem <something> " installed, together with "OpenSSH Server"
installed in your iPhone. The BSD and OpenSSH is avail via the Installer (which you should have on your homescreen if your iPhone is hacked like the rest of us). Generic login username is root, password is alpine

Then install WinSCP on your Windoze machine.... etc etc etc

mugenfoo ... can u help me with one thing? Do u have mobile terminal or VT100 installed?

If so can u find a file named "profile" in /private/etc/ and attach it here?

Thanks
*
Yah, found it .... its just a simple text file:

------------------file start -------------------------------
# System-wide .profile for sh(1)

PATH="/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/private/var/root/bin"
export PATH

if [ "${BASH-no}" != "no" ]; then
[ -r /etc/bashrc ] && . /etc/bashrc
fi
------------------file end -------------------------------

Hi mugenfoo...

Yes i have BSD Subsystem Version 2.1 and OpenSSH Version 4.6p1-2 on my phone.

1: So u mean tat i have BSD no need to install Cydia is tat so?
2: So how do i gain access to "login" thingy i cant see any application ot themes allow me to login...
3: Where do i get the WinSCP? do i need to install the WinSCP via iPhone too?

Thanks smile.gif

Added on March 9, 2008, 7:25 pmis it this file? im not sure?
http://winscp.net/eng/download.php

Thanks

ok, then u no need Cydia ... since u got BSD already.

Yes, thats the right winSCP. its actually an FTP/SSH/SCP client program. The OpenSSH in your iPhone makes your iPhone into a SSH/SCP file server.

after u install winSCP, create a "new connection" ... and the login setup box will appear. In that box, enter your iPhone's IP address, username and password as mentioned above.

Then u'll be able to browse all the files in your iPhone like any other PC.

Word of CAUTION: Since you are logging in as "root" , and "root" in UNIX means you're pretty much GOD to that machine .. u can do ANYTHING to it. If you tersilap delete some critical files, you lobotomize your iPhone and it will need a full restore in iTunes. Just to WARN you 1st and anyone who is about to mess around with the iPhone file system.

Its like messing up your C:\WINDOWS\ contents .... BSOD anyone? haHAhAHAhaHA

found something interesting at <root>/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/<whatever carrier>.bundle folders in iPhone v1.1.4....

Seems that u can do your custom plists for Maxis / DiGi / Celcom just like in 1.1.2 with the MCC/MNC symlinks as well.

You still can use Maxis 3G sim but EDGE won't be working because iphone is yet to support 3G. No problem with SMS for 3G sim card.
*
Using Maxis 3G SIM on iPhone is fine, even EDGE is working.

u just need to use the "3G settings" which is APN:unet , user:maxis, password: wap and EDGE will be working fine.

Hi nokia2003,

well...the carkit charger i bought is a two-piece type... the USB cable and the charger to plug into the socket.

the strange thing is :

1) i can use the USB cable to sync with PC
2) and i can use the charger to charge my bluetooth earpiece.

That's mean both item also no problem.. but then when i plug in iphone to charge..it doesn't work...why ah?

is there any known incompatibilit issue  or what could be the  issues??
PLEASE HELP...i make alot call...everyday  without the carkit i'm doomed...
*
The newer ipods (incl iPhone and iTouch) cannot be charged with those simple 12V to 5V USB car socket to USB adapters .... you'll need a "made for iPod" car charger kit to be able to charge it . Its to do with some signal detection on the USB connector's two inner pins.

Yup.. its an incompatibility for sure between generic 12V to 5V USB socket chargers and the newer iPods and iPhones/iTouches.

of course there's a hack for it ... if you're up to it ..

The schematic to "convert" a generic charger to be iPod CHARGING capable ... just do the following...

Solder or jump a 10KOhm resistor between the USB +5V pin and the "Data -" pin,
and then do the same for another 10KOhm resistor between the USB GND pin to the "Data+" pin.

The reason for it is to mimick a 3.3V into the USB Data+ line and the combo of the 10KOhm resistors jumpered to the relevant pins would do just that.

WARNING: You do it at your own risk !!

you can try weTool (http://app.weiphone.com/installer)
or iSMS (http://iphone.nonsoft.com/repo)
*
But be careful, weTool only works on version 1.1.2 or lower... <without some tweakings>
Dunno about iSMS though...

hey guys, after upgrading to 114, i'm still having problem wif my sms.....

it's still super slow and sometimes, it freezes up unless i delete sms
if i uninstall appsupport 114, the sms could be better

any1 of u still have this issue?
Yeah .. mine kinda lags too especially when the SMS thread piles up ...

SuXX...

If you observed an improvement if u remove 114 AppSupp patch, it could be due to the number matching thingy... sad.gif

I wonder if there's a way to code our own hack for AppSupport like in 1.1.2, before the iWorld and iClarified thing.

is urs 8gb or 16gb???

so how's the performance? i dare not load up de phone fearing it will slow down the phone

Added on March 14, 2008, 1:03 am

u tried it??? did it work???

I've installed appsupport but not too sure how to do the manual stuff
*
Yup.... after editing the <something>.txt file and moving the countries MY and SG to the top most positions ...
SMS app is loading much faster now...

Tempted to take out all the other junkie countries' entries but lets see... let my SMS threads pile up and see if it still bogs down or not.

Also, loading up the phone with MP3s and other iTunes-based user content doesn't really slow the phone down. Mine is down to less than 500MB free space and still feels the same.

Some graphics-intensive Summerboard themes might cause an initial boot-up lag though.

Ok, removed some of the "unused" countries in the txt file. Doesn't seem to improve the SMS loading speed anymore. I guess moving just MY and SG to the topmost of the list is sufficient.

.... thats why we're posting so much in this forum rclxms.gif

Hang on a minute .... whaddaya mean "lack of feature" ?
<Ein minuten bitte!>

It's probably THE MOST feature packed PHONE in the market right now....
Think of it as a UNIX-like machine in your pocket; with a great screen and a even greater user interface.
