I'm on 1.1.4 but not using BSD. I choose to install Cydia instead of the buggy BSD, hence I can change password without problem. You can still change your password under BSD but using certain method only, I can't recall what's that at the moment.  hmm.gif

the method for BSD users (myself included) is to replace the BSD's original passwd file with the one from the Cydia package... works like a charm.

I'd install Cydia but i'm just too darn lazy... tongue.gif

SMSD on 1.1.4 !!!!! Confirmed work !

1) install SMSD version 0.2.1 through the Installer repository of STE Packaging;
2) download SMSD version 0.2.3beta1 from Amrut Joshi's site;
3) establish an SSH connection with your iPhone;
3) overwrite the installed SMSD.app with the SMSD. app from the folder you downloaded; and
4) restart your iPhone.

That's what I did on my 1.1.4 iPhone, and it worked for me. :-)

Wow ... mebbe i should give it a try again...

i tried SMSd 1.2.3beta1 last week and it bombed out (keeps crashing back to springboard) so i gave up and just used WeTool instead. rclxub.gif

BTW, I'm on 1.1.4 also.

"manually manage" music and videos is possible with latest iTunes and latest iPhone firmware. Just like any other iPod, the option to tick "manually manage my shit" is available via iTunes.

Best to use DiGi ... no matter how much you use the EDGE and what data package you subscribe to, it will never charge more than RM150 for data usage. Of course the cheaperest one is the flat rate RM66/month for unlimited usage.

yup just realise that the problem is with maxis. I went to city centre and can connect to edge just find. Maybe there's something wrong with the edge signal near my home
*
if u get a solid block without the "E" inside it, it means that the signal is only GPRS and not EDGE.

Since EDGE handsets are all backwards compatible with GPRS radio towers (and vice versa) , so you can still use data but at super slow speeds only.

You can actually d/l some PNG file that replaces the iPhone's standard "solid block" with one thats got a G letter in it, ... if you're into modding iphone aesthetics ... hahaha
