You will want to watch the upcoming solo movies cause they really work as that super team you always wanted to see. MVP again goes to WW and Arthur Curry came close while obviously Flash the comic relief. Bats and Supe more of backseat characters while Cyborg still OK and does not come across Ironman knockoff.

Moving forward hope they are more different from the competitors. Kidnap some british comedians already to make the banter more interesting. The cool kids are watching Rick and Morty. Whedon style just too TV friendly sitcom for my taste.

More importantly pay farking attention to the bad dude....just so tired of lame ass villains on all CBM.

Snyder fanboys can celebrate as aesthetically they are pleasing and couple of standout fight scenes. The dragonball BS still aplenty and for the last time he is really bad at structuring pacing. Storywise you know I know needlessly convoluted although its paper thin. You can tell Whedon band aiding the sinking ship although it did not sink.

Hypothetically speaking if i'm on netflix i would watch JL over GOTG2 as far as team up CBM I've watched this year.

Narrative problems are not solved solely by runtime as the skeleton of the movie already got problem. Prolonging the runtime just make the scene flows better and more breathing space. It may change the tempo of a scene but will not change the dna of the scene. Extended cut of BvS only makes the scenes flesh out better and easier to follow but still did not solved the convoluted narrative structure and does not address the Martha bomb. From an editor POV.

Given all the dramas happening behind the scene and actually very amaze this movie did not turn out a dumpster fire. IMO still worth watching when they group together for the first time will turn any grown ass man to a 10 year old child geeking with orgasm. More importantly it will leave you wanting more of DCEU although the movie itself not a homerun.A little bit like Diana, her character was done with so much care it overwrites the subpar third act and so so action sequences.

Think the real challenge is will they able to steer to a better direction in a post Snyder cinematic universe. Now it seems like Geoff John is the architect for any DCEU moving forward. WW tonal shift and hiring of Whedon all his doing. Hope the Aquaman movie able to be a more deservinh hit that set them apart from MCU. To be fair you have Matt Reeves on Batman, Jenkins back on WW2, Gavin O'Connor on SS2, James Wan on Aquaman. Those are impressive selection of film directors.

Haha...Snyder actually very lucky and manage to cash out. The Star Wars people more ruthless with firing directors left, right and center. LOL.....😂

MCU/Popular movies guarantee hits on social media and websites. Every critics will dump their reviews as humanly as possible. When comes to the middle or small websites they have a tendency to soft ball their reviews to appeal their reader base and get in the good books of PR people to gain early access.

Hence you get this impression why the really popular movies have an unusual high fresh scores.

Snyder need to walk away from tentpole movies to reinvent himself. No matter how bad his movies are...his art sense and visual cues really up there with the best. Actually he did a great job with the casting and design elements of DCEU cause instantly they are distinctive from MCU.

Think with Brian Michael Bendis jumping ship to DC, Geoff John most likely will be less involved in publishing and full force on film division. Guess have to wait and see how good he is as the gatekeeper of DCEU. Really have high hopes on Aquaman movie cause his 52 run really face melting good.

Chill your banana boys!!! Business publication reviews are the wrong benchmark to quote. You want to look at respectable entertainment outlets like Variety, THR or popular news outlet like Washington Post, Time, etc or websites like indiewiere, vulture, thewrap....

You just focus on negative reviews and amp everything out without considering what's the tally number of positive reviews. In regardless who is the top critics, it only takes 2 positive reviews to tip the scale against a single bad grading. The tomatometer does not represent the actual movie scorecard, it just a yay or no consensus aggregate. The actual movie score is the small text below the tomatometer with average rating on it. If you are so worry about bad score, focus on the number of mixed reaction responses as they can swing both ways and stack it against the negative/positive numbers!! If the mixed responses far greater than the positive one then you can call high probable of rotten. Jeez......

FFS this is how RT works-

Ragnorak high 93% simply means....say 100 critics were sampled. 93 of them voted fresh while 7 voted rotten. That does not reflect the actual score of these critics given to the movie. It doesn't matter what the 93 critics graded the movie as long as they voted fresh and met the minimum fresh threshold of 6/10.

The average rating of the movie is 7.5 which is aggregate of all the critic's score given to the movie. Technically if all the 93 critics submitted 6/10 or 10/10 the tomatometer will still reflect 93% and the change is only on the average rating.

There is not a single thing you can do about it. If you like the movie and it contradicts the tomatometer score does it even matter. RT only a reference point and the key factor is still about your experience of watching the movie. Do I have to feel insecure because that critic does not reflect my opinion or the rotten score will stop me from liking a movie that the consensus does not.

The critics do not owned you and you don't owned them. So there is no written contract you have to agree or disagree with them. DCEU still raking profits with all the rotten scored movies so what is the issue here? Furthermore DCEU is course correcting and it will take time.

RT score does not impact box office greatly but not saying it does not have an effect how it is influencing our decision to watch a movie. Again i need to stress out the nerds and cinephiles only a tiny portion of the market. We are just vocal minority and blockbuster are made on the silent majority meaning people who just want entertainment and they don't even care what is the RT score. All they care is WW, Batman, Superman and they don't even bother to know who is Joss Whedon or Zack Snyder.That 10 year old kid with his 2 siblings couldn't be bother with what the critics are saying and they are the cash cows, not us.

Guess WW fangirls is pushing tracking of US ticket to 130 instead of 115 as previously projected. That's 15 mil more than Thor Ragnarok opening. Easily hit 300 international cause no delay opening in China. All the ladies watching JL certainly a cuci mata experience. You have that one dude who like to appear shirtless and all the hunks in the movie. Empowering feminism in the Amazonians. For us batangs only a small window of Mera to lust over.😆

So the bigger question is the dropoff of 2nd week. The big movie opening next week is Pixar's Coco which can be a hard sell with the Mexican theme but if the storyline is really good it will certainly eats into JL performance.

With the movie out, let's have a look at the magic ball. Don't think DCEU will catch up to MCU anytime soon. Believe Infinity Wars will slaughter next year and 2019. WB simply do not have anything on their slate to go up against that. At this point their best shot is making really good solo movies that set them apart from the others and continue to rebrand themselves.

Aquaman to a degree need to start the ball running to build on the WW and do not afraid to delve into uncharted territory. Deep character arcs that define him in the Atlantis GOT conflict with Ocean Master and really hope they don't pull back from Black Mantra. The achilles heel of MCU is their weak sauce villains.

Right now the biggest advantage of WB had over mouse house is WW. Until they get to formulate the return of Batman and Supe as the powerhouse trinity it will take awhile to see them as a force to be reckon with.

2019 they are up to 2 releases with Shazam and WW2. 2020 will be the earliest sighting of Reeves's Batman and Connor's SS2 and perhaps a third movie. Feige have yet to lay out the next phase of MCU.

Also WB need to halt the leaks in their studios as there are at least half a dozen in development projects got out that simply makes no sense.

Snyder can not do any original story...his earlier movies still ok to watch cause those either filming a script not by him or direct adaptation of existing books. It all went downhill after Sucker Punch.

On an unrelated note, DC movies flailing but the comic book world is lit as fuct. Every fanboys mind blown by this instant classic new villain.

Actually i do felt if they don't truncate the runtime it will just go back to BvS and MoS meandering pacing. Chances are the 1st edit will be more of servicing the theme of hope that Superman represent. Chalk this up just another passable movie to watch that people will forget when EVIII drops.

Now I'm more hype for all the Oscar bait films that gonna drops. My film snob mode is on.

MCU rules simply because they are a better brand on a whole and already perfected a tight operation. Even JL became a juggernaut hit, DCEU still got their ass spanked in 2018. Aquaman vs Black Panther, Infinity Wars, Antman 2. There also the wildcard of Deadpool 2 from Fox. DCEU with 5 movies vs MCU 17 movies. The bad press from DCEU just never stop and wasn't addressed properly while you seldom hear controversial news from MCU camp except creative differences or actor demanding higher salaries. It's not hard for people to look at DCEU with a tainted reputation.

With or without Zack Snyder it just an uphill battle to topple MCU overnight. They are the Apple equivalent of CBM.

The geeky nitpicks I had is the power showcase of Aquaman. With his trident on hand he can take down the big blue in the comic book. So a bit surprised how lopsided the fight was with the revival of Kal-El. Yupp i love Aquaman more than the Trinity.

For the greatest detective in the world, he made no secret he is batman in front of a handful of extras during his first encounter with Arthur Curry...lol.

The flash sequel need a super charged training montage to bring him back to being a capable hero and don't milk he is a rookie although it make sense by his naivety he trigger flashpoint but the eagle eyed people will retort he is an older flash in BvS dream sequence.

Was rewatching Ocean 11, that would be a good benchmark of witty banter they should aim for in the future. Organic, clever and the quips truthful to character development instead of insert jokes here and there.

Uhhh.....hmmmm.......heehhhh.....actually WB owned some stakes in RT through their investment in Fandango. Why on earth would they want to sabotage their own movie? Even RT wanted to help Marvel or WB, the FCC will take action as the anti-trust lawsuit no joke over there cause there are other big studios just won't let such thing slide. 😑
