can u imagine Zack Snyder's Justice League Director Cut version???

Phew, just watched Zack Snyder's Justice League. After watching this, I am a bit on the fence


Between this and the whedon version, yes... the snyder cut is better, albeit only slightly. Some scenes snyder cut is better, but some scenes whedon's version is better. The meat of the story is the same with whedon version, though they have different smaller beats

What Snyder Cut did better
- Better flowing action, but it's mostly the same stuff
- Overall better VFX minus a few scenes where the cgi definitely stuck out
- Cyborg and Flash were given decent backstories
- Steppenwolf was better written in this, better vfx
- The final battle at the nuclear reactor, definitely better than whedon's
- Snyder cut did superman and batman better in this, especially in the final battle
- Epilogue with silas stone narrating was arguably better than whedon's (lois lane narrating)

What Whedon theatrical cut did better
- Surprisingly, the music was done better in most scenes
- Bank hostage, tunnel and metropolis fight scenes I felt were better in whedon's version. Straight to the point and precise, better music
- The team dialogue and banter was better than snyder cut. Something about the dialogue in snyder cut seemed off and not natural
- Bruce Wayne was better in whedon cut... in snyder cut it felt like he just followed the pack and didn't have a contingency plan on how to deal with superman
- This film was better without the cameos by martian manhunter and knightmare cast, feels shoehorned into the story
- Exchange between lex luthor and deathstroke was better in this film, better lead up and set up with legion of doom


Nitpicks
- What's up with Mera's accent in here? In Aquaman, she speaks in american accent, here she speaks in a thick cockney accent



Last time I gave JL 2017 3/5. Snyder cut is better but not by much... I would give this film 3.5/5

I agree. Feel that Martian Manhunter should have been given a proper intro. Then I read this and apparently that two ending scenes are there to prop up JL2

What I like about ZS's JL is the new Steppenwolf look and how he gets the end that he deserves (like a true warrior). Other times, the 4 hours felt draggy. Too many long winded and melancholic moments. Three hours would be nice if this version is the one that hit the theater. Enjoyed every scene with WW in it

There are scenes where whedon did it better, but final battle is where there's night and day difference
Guessing whedon didn't have time to completely reshoot the film and WB 2 hour mandate. In fact, after watching this, gotta give props to whedon also. He somehow managed to tell a rather coherent story in 2 hours.

Okay manhunter disguising himself as martha is completely pointless and takes weight away from an otherwise alright scene

When clark was at the farm with lois and martha shows up, they didn't explain how martha would know clark was there. in whedon version, clark just remarks to lois 'you called mum'

There's a truck load of stupid scenes in snyder cut also, like darkseid just watching steppenwolf getting his ass kicked from boom tube. He coulda just stepped through the boom tube and game over

HBO Max has Synder's intro at the start and HBO Max logo for around 36sec. He was just thanking the fans n stuff. HBO Go does not include this and cuts straight to the movie. Don't know what else was cut from Asia's version.

I've seen it and I think it's better than Whedon's version
It's a 7/10 movie for me on par with MoS and BvS
there's some scenes that I don't like though

-4 hour screen time which felt like a drag
-too many unnecessary slow mo scenes
-every time WW shows up there's amazonian chanting song accompanied her
-I still don't like how The Flash run. I like the speed force scene tho
-the nightmare and MM scenes at the end felt forced and tacked

after all, I'm glad that Snyder was given chance to redeem JL
and I really like how they do Darkseid, felt menacing and evil

Solid movie
7.5/10

there is no cut, according to hbo the runtime different due to different coding system use by us/europe,asia. US version run on 24fps(242 minutes) while other like asia run on 25fps(232 minutes).just what i read for this issue. i try play both version at same time, us version always slow by 1-3 second.

4 yrs ago, i watch JL and knowing all the troubles with production, i walk away with a bitter taste. I'm a bigger DC fan compared to marvel. the end result is so messy, so naturally I'm bitter.

fast forward today, the story line is essentially the same but how it's told now is completely different. there are more depth, a few unnecessary scene, a bit of dodgy FX, whole lots of slo-mo and that scene at the end... is masterpiece.

it's not a completely new movie but letting ZS complete his vision gv JL the credit it deserved. ZSJL is not for eveone. first of all, it's 4hr long and nothing ZS is without controversy.

this is a 8/10 for me. I'm a big fan of both BvS and Watchman director cut. i do wonder if there will b a ZSJL director cut... now that will b wild.

Think this is Zack Snider's best superhero movie to date but mind you it's not creme de la creme of filmmaking. His weird idiosyncrasies still on full display and couple meandering scenes. My biggest praise is at least that it proves you don't need to do a MCU approach for a superhero epic. It's a disgrace Whedon did a bastardized iteration in the first theatrical release.

The biggest takeaway is Zack makes Cyborg a tier one hero with his affecting character development. Each hero has a clearly defined arc and even extends to the villains. Guess the 4 hours can afford everyone breathing space. Really don't know where the epilogue will lead as conflicting movie projects already slated in production. Ava DuVernay making New Gods which essentially the origin of Darkseid and Pattinson's Batman with a whole new slew of rogue gallery.

Highly enoyable but no masterpiece. I don't mean masterpiece like MCU but I'm more inclined to HBO's Watchmen. With more insightful writings and fully formed philosophical execution. I know it's two different type of things but I can hope.

A bit too long, a bit draggy, still got a few bad CGI, more brutal, but overall it's the much better version of JL.
if you have never watch JL before, this is THE version you should watch IMO, forget the other version.

Ray Fisher, the only cast among the JL main casts that having the most hype and exciting moment...

After watching the zack version, anyone have the same feeling with me that among those superheros , I think Aquaman not very powerful for fighting if compared with those other alliance . 😅

definitely, whedon made flash a sissy. while in this, even the dialogue also damn meaningful to snyder. "dad.. whatever happens, i just want u to know, your kid was one of them dad, one of the best of the best"

oh ya also, the flash didn't took that long to save his dead team. while avengers? took them 5 years to build a time machine.
