sad.gif So bad no chance of getting bulk price HDD in garage sales as the postage cost like a bomb. Cost me RM15 for postage from west msia to my place. sweat.gif End up i grab it on local shop here. RM230 for Seagate Barracuda 7200.11! Got 92mb/s

Benchmark SS:

Your new HDD is slighyly faster than mine AAKS,i got about average 80mb/s if not mistaken.Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 seems like not bad.

Yea. I was shocked with the speed as well. Is near 93mb/s for the reading speed. I did a 32mb long bench with HD Tech. Does the 32mb cache make some different?
*
I guess it will be having some different. No really sure although,between you have a very nice HDD. thumbup.gif If run at RAID-0,the speed should be near to SaTA1 full speed or maybe more.

Haha.. Atleast now both of my HDD were run on SATA2 controller, better than last night on 800SE where only have SATA controller. Anyways, going to take this big fella as media storage. tongue.gif
*
@fylon,guess is your Sata 2 controller + 32MB cache on the hdd boosts your HDD performance.Awaresome performance increment but a bit wasted if you are treating it as a media storage only. biggrin.gif

About the AHCI, there is a way to make it work without reformat actually. Did a system repair. tongue.gif But i formatted mine as wanna make a new fresh windows with lightning speed. laugh.gif Backup-ing the new system image now. So can recover back in case anything happened.
*
@fylon,what's the advantages of using ACHI mode?I do not know about this ACHI functions than OS driver driven SATA.You screamyx so fast? thumbup.gif Hope i can get constant speed as yours too!

@Ray
Haa.. Never bench on that setup man. The scores will be shitting. tongue.gif But games which takes high cpu power will be a kill for that setup.

@ravewar
Same thought. Somehow old sch will always stand the favor of being use more then the new one. icon_rolleyes.gif

I know the P4 2.4GHz HT with be shitting in 3D mark 06.Thus no point to run for CPU test. I believe the P4 Gallatin can make a difference form the normal chips.

@fylon,2.4GHz with HT ?Just can't believe that it's still so responsive to so many system.On the HDD side,upgrade it to SATA. brows.gif Thanks on the feedback on 3D mark 06,i believe the P4 Gallatin might be able to acheive another 300 points like that as the L3 cache is useful on this benchmark.Thanks for providing feedback.
