I open account oredi. Among all brokers that I had account with, I must say that HLeBroking's team of dealers provide the best service. I was told that they provide training on their platform on a forthnightly basis to assist newbie like me to get started. This is memang best.

Oops... my bad. I can now see the ambiguity in my previous post. My apologies.

When you said "Other System", what does it mean? You mean the dealer place order for you? In this case, offline rate was charged then. Right?

I'm not sure exactly what he meant but I believe those trading desk guys have another platform to place their orders since it's not possible to do so via their IRISS platform.

He gave me online rate since he wasn't sure what went wrong with my trading account. However, now that they've informed me that IRISS is not able to accommodate ARCA stocks, the next time I wanna sell my DWTI, I've to call the trading desk guys again with offline rate. sad.gif

I think I'll stick with KLSE for HLeB & will migrate to offshore brokerage for NYSE.

Ok... I have yet to start trading foreign. Just started local bourse and HLeB helped me a lot. Thanks for the explanation.

No, the call was to activate my account to enable me to trade ARCA stocks.
I bought it online myself.

Noted. My back-and-forth emails to Jessica from HLeB ended up with the conclusion that HLeB can only accommodate certain ARCA stocks, in which they can help you activate them for online trade should you inform them prior to the trade (your scenario).

Unfortunately, some ARCA stocks can't be done the same way & the only option is to trade them offline (my scenario). sad.gif

Wow.... you both sounds like foreign shares taiko.... Can enlighten me a bit or not. What is ARCA?

What service do they provide - stock tips ? Amesecurities is pretty good service to me ... I've called or email them many time and they always response fast. Emails response within an hour or 2, and sometimes even faster.

I think so far, all the brokers I've had the pleasure of dealing with have provided good service.
Although it must be mentioned I've only dealth with Maybank, Jupiter and Hong Leong.
*
A lot of other brokers just leave you to explore yourself. Answering email, answering phone, all those are normal service and if a broker cant even do it, should ask them close shop.

As for HLeBroking, they hand hold me on how to do trading. They provide classes FOC for new traders to learn the rope of online trading. Every now and then, they will also have classes on how to use charting. All these are extremely useful for me.

Dealers are paid employee while Remisiers are commissioned based. So, in terms of asking for a lower rate, dealers are more incline to give IF compares to Remisiers.

i m considering hleb for foreign stocks.

do you know for foreign stocks, whether remisier or dealer will be able to offer a better deal overall - for low, fair and high trading volume?
*
QUOTE(Hapeng @ Oct 26 2015, 11:51 AM)
Mine is under a dealer.
Be prepared for high fees though =(
*
Brokerage for foreign share trading is always high irregardless of which broker you are using. You will have to check out their fees which is almost similar. Having said that, HLIB offered the lowest brokerage for HK shares at 0.159% (online trades). I have checked and this is the lowest in the market. Correct me IF i am wrong.

Guys, i have a question. I already transfer money tru maybank2u on friday morning before 12pm. The problem is, today my trading limit still 0. Im a bit confuse. Need help.
*
Need to call your dealer and tell them that you have transferred money from maybank to HLIB's bank account. Need to show them the transfer receipt. This is because HLIB will not know unless you tell them as many other customer also transfer to the same account. Once you inform your dealer, they will do the necessary and you will see the money in your trust account. Trading Limit will then being assigned accordingly IF your account is a cash account.

I hope my explanation helps.

but if u are transferring from maybank within the hleb portal (that only allows hlb and mbb accounts), there is no need to call dealer, right?
*
Oh yes.... but still, its better to just let your dealer know to be on the safe side IF you did not see the money coming in.

I am not going to say that I am a experience user because I took up trading not too long ago. To answer your question below

1. I normally transfer one lump sum over to my trust account at HLeB because the interest rate they gave is 2.6% which is better than i keep it in my CASA account. So, I seldom do the transfer. If I remember correctly, Its overnight depends on what time you transfer. If do it in the morning, i think can see by the same day.

2. HLeB is using Excel Force as their vendor (in malaysia, its either Excel force or N2N). As I already familiar with Excel Force platform, I find it more user friendly. This is very personal though.

3. I trade little bit of foreign stock only as a start. I dont use real-time because its chargeable as my trading volume is not big enough. Delay is good enough for me.

4. This is the reason why I stick with HLeB. Their dealers' service level is very very good. Polite, friendly and at the same time pretty knowledgeable. I have tried other broker before and I still find HLeB to be the best in terms of service level.

5. This is a very tricky question. As I am a fan of HLeB, of course I will rate HLeB higher than CIMB or MBB. To me, CIMB quite cocky and very proud of themselves. Hence, when I ask some amateur question, they did seems happy to answer. This is just my personal experience and is not representative. As for MBB, I dont know as I did not have experience with them.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Oct 27 2015, 04:27 PM)
think u r an experienced user of hleb.

can i check with you:

.. using hlb internal transfer, is the amt shown wityhin 1/2 day or overnight?
.. how do you find the use of hleb portal overall for daily buy/sell activity, reports? poor, satisfactory, good?
.. for foreign stocks, do you use real time data, reliable good enough?
.. how do you find the service level of the dealers when you call them?
.. how would you rate hleb compared to cimb, mbb and others if you have used them before?

tq.

i may be want to give it try soon.
