didnt u read my post? the antenna onli manage <150m at clos - clear.line.of.sight. i can still physically see the antenna when i started to lost its' signal.
test setup:
- mount the antenna vertically using the mounting bracket on the 1st floor
- then plug antenna cable to a router, ie ddwrt-54gl. tx power varies, but result still the same.
- establishing a point-to-multipoint network. didnt use netstumbler or any other software, just use laptop to see how far the signal goes. if i cant get the signal, there's no point of using any software.
do u think the antenna got problem? i oso notice the signal is not actually 360 deg., but ~45deg left + right.
u sounded like an experienced networker. what ap did u used?
how bout other antenna owners?
omni directional antenna is 360" on horizontal axis, and 15" on vertical one. ~45deg left + right is for directional/panel one.test setup:

yeah, something might goes wrong during post-installation testing. I personally experienced some of that. That would includes malfunction antenna, spoiled router board, spoiled connector, lost in cable, short-circuit, etc. I might add the area also have to get good chi to get better signal transmission.
Sciencetifically speaking, some interference might occur if you placed the antenna near to radiation transmitting source such as microwave oven, tv, cordless phone terminal, or mobile phone repeaters.
2 years learning DIY in this field don't make me an experienced networker. It's just my hobby.
