scare woo ... coz d Biostar hardware monitoring keep "weong!weong!" sometime  shocking.gif . i dont know whats wrong.

how bout its temp ?? can be trust ??

weong weong??? Your CPU fan pusing fast lar si it?? laugh.gif
Or there's lalat camping inside hmm.gif laugh.gif

Don't worry, try up it to 1.4V and monitor the temp...
if not above 60, you can try up to 1.45V and that's the maximum... but you got good cooler shouldn't be a problem if + the vcore more than 1.45V wink.gif

laugh.gif  Their challenge is 3.6Ghz... Our challenge is 3Ghz..  doh.gif  sweat.gif
Mine is without .. I run 2.1v can't over 960Mhz .. Maybe I got gem here.. The gem that cannot OC..  sweat.gif
Just use to test whether my processor reached its limit or my mobo dun wan go over 290HTT..
Still no answer.. Suspect my mobo causing the problem..
1.4v shud be ok lar.. Don't be afraid.. Can auto shut down 1..

Temp better dun over 50c idle.. load 70c also can .. more than that i dunno ..

If you go google properly, there's some review where AMD can reach 4GHz with WC...
The only AMD barrier was 3GHz, once you thru that, I don't think you have any problem OC until 4GHz... Provided you don't burn your own proc lar laugh.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong. notworthy.gif As I read some reviews about 5000+ BE and 6400+ BE with almost the same performance and can be OC'ed to 4GHz with good WC.

i would say tri-core will do as long as they promise high clock overclokin. dun mind if it's one core less compared to quaddies, with that it means value for $$$ as well...  smile.gif

for daily usage & moderate gamin, tri-core should be more than enuf ledi.  wink.gif
*
smile.gif Couldn't agree more. You can't even fully utilize 3GHz proc for normal daily usage and moderate gaming...

For quad normally good for converting video and .....
For Dual normally good for moderate gaming and...software app and etc

if between dual and quad.....trible core is the best choice
*
Single core could accomodate moderate gaming already icon_idea.gif Just it will do better in duol core and tri core in term of FPS and loading. smile.gif

5000+ be is hard to reach 4GHz imo coz they are of brisby core, 6400+ is on f3 core which can clock further if compared to brisby. thing d w 6400+ is that it runs quite hot (12xW IIRC).  smile.gif

Added on February 19, 2008, 11:14 am
nope, some multi threaded games suffer under single core cpu, that's y u need atleast a dually to run 'em.  smile.gif
*
Nope, 5000+ BE can reach 4GHz. I just don't know what they did with either the proc or mobo.
5 out of 5 reviews I read never mentioned that they had problem facing for 3Ghz, things... Even there's one review where I read that that guy could OC up to 4GHz using WC...

Btw, bro digswell, I think that CPU-Z SS from where tongue.gif(nick of time + printscreen laugh.gif)

Added on February 19, 2008, 11:19 amBtw, my GC haven't return. Once return, I'll try Crysis with 3.2GHz (16X200) even thou orthos is not stable. I don't have problem running 3.2GHz whole night yesterday...

I read a lot of review and result from web but none of them had problem passing all the test on Orthos @ 3.1GHz

different proc has different oc ability
from my F3 sales experience,
even two procs from a same batch vary in term of ocability.
if you're lucky enough, u can get a good brisby G2 that can oc 3.2GHz with stock vcore. rclxm9.gif
if you got no luck, maybe you get a proc that hit the wall at 2.6GHz sad.gif
in conclusion, it's depend on your luck  brows.gif

I can OC up to 3.2GHz @ vcore bootable into windows but yet, fail on orthos.

Tonight I'll try run Warcraft 3 sweat.gif (GC haven't return yet tongue.gif) and see if this setup will restart or BSOD.

blink.gif Why you guys de 5000+ BE need to up vcore to reach 3.1GHz??

tongue.gif Without testing stability, it can be booted @
Stock Vcore @ 3.1GHz
Stock Vcore + 0.08V @ 3.2GHz

For further I haven't test yet as I'm using stock cooler only sweat.gif

tongue.gif Tried running both setup in Warcraft 3 for 2-3 hours rclxub.gif, No restart or BSOD so far

(P/S : Still waiting my GC to come back and I'll test with High Settings on COD4 & Crysis for maybe 3-5 hours thumbup.gif See if it will freeze or stable or not.)

*Note, I'm still using stock cooler cry.gif So cham ar..... tongue.gif laugh.gif Lolx

Ok, Yesterday I did a test.

By adding Vcore, that's the problem... But another problem occur nowhere, today will retest again.. sweat.gif

I could boot up 3.2GHz(16X200) @ Vcore +0.08V but Orthos failed.
I reduced the multiplier to 15 and 200FSB (3GHz) @ Vcore +0.08V, Orthos 10 minutes and passed.

Adding FSB to 202 @ 15x multiplier (3.03Ghz) @ Vcore +0.08V, Orthos passed the test for 40 minutes and I left it running till blackout.

Means that the whole rig still running, but the screen gone.(I'm not sure what happen) Monitor was not blinking(sleep mode) So I think either my chipset or proc too hot and the system freeze and blackout.

sweat.gif cry.gif Stock Cooler......

So far, my best setting and stable with less than 60 Load Temp was 14.5x and 206FSB smile.gif I think I'll stick to that till I get some custom cooler. rclxm9.gif
