component got nothing to do with audio ler....

just setup your equipment like this:-

PS3 --> HDMI --> RX-V663 |___> LCD TV HDMI in
Popcorn --> HDMI -->RX-V663 | >

also, set your PS3 HDMI setting to PCM to get the lossless sound.

So the popcorn each have 1 hdmi to v663, and 663 only has 1 hdmi to the hdtv. Got it :]

Sometimes four if you have an XBOX 360 and dvd player (upscaling)

I personally think PS3 is better than Xbox 360.

However it can be argued that Xbox 360 is better in terms of pricing ..... however i think PS3 40 gb price tag isn't too bad and is worth the purchase.

Anyway the PS3 is my dvd player :]

I think the hardware pricing between the 2 not much difference but the software big difference because you know lah...

PS3 supports HD DTS and MA DTS, AND DOES BLUE RAY !!!

I think it is safe to say we all here are PS3 fans since were audiophiles

so from ur popcorn to avr u need 2, one coaxial, and one hdmi as well

With my Popcorn and the Yamaha 663 i notice this




After i setup popcorn to HDMI input to Yamaha 663 out to HDTV i get the following support



HDMI Setup

1. DTS works ( in the 663 must go to the option to set as coaxial for the popcorn input connection if you want to enable dts decoding by the receiver )

2. AC3 works

3. AAC 24000 hz works HOWEVER the volume is very low .....

4. FLAC works

5. OGM does not work




RCA Setup

1. DTS does not work

2. AC3 works

3. AAC 48000 hz works

4. OGM does not work







Right now i am trying to get AAC 24000 hz to work with a louder sound on my receiver. Also need to test if 48000 hz works via HDMI as it had previously worked when i used the RCA connection which is weird.

Overall the Popcorn meets 85 % of my target media files which is very good.

Got my 663 today from Legend SS2. The price has drop a bit. Titanium color just like my previous 461. This thing is a lot bigger than 461. The height and depth is much more but same width.

1st impression sq wise never regret buying.

Suddenly my 5.1 yammy speakers sounded like they worth much more than they actually are. I thought my center speaker is lousy but now dialog is so clear even at lower volume. I just use basic setting, set speaker to 6 ohm, turn off the eq than pop in Cars DVD into my Pioneer and send every bits thru hdmi. Pheww took just 5 mins no sweat

To put it short...sweeett I love it

Now need to study the manual, test CD, test straight mode, direct mode, ipod, 17 dsp mode, bla bla

Not even 1 day already itchy to get another 2 speakers for back surround

If you thinking of buying 663, dont hold ur horses. Just go get it
