Taikor, I am still holding on. Wait til 863 is here. Still undecided. Maybe 863, if it's good or 1800 or 805 (if got extra moolah). If not, 705.

Denon is too expensive to be considered.
*
If you don't need a built in 1080p scaler from Anchor Bay, 863 is good enough, 1800 is more pricey because of the built in scaler.

htkaki is Elite mah, 661 got no kick leh, at least 863 and above lah. rclxms.gif

then ur house can shake one.. smile.gif all the doors can tremble..

There's a discontinued model, I think it is MS 909i if I'm not mistaken, that one is not bad even though the driver is made in Malaysia, it rumbles very well. I believe Hiwaylaser still have one unit left in stock.

I was offered by this shop, which I think is tempting. B&W 602.5 S3 Made in UK. Price : RM3.2K. *Scratching itchy hands*
*
That's a good price if it's fully imported from UK but hopefully the sound is as good as the price. Sadly, my friend not selling them anymore, need to special order and cannot audition them. cry.gif

sunauto, it is absolutely mint condition. Display units. There is a pair of DM600 S3 too. Price : Very tempting. Auditioned this baby. I must say that I am impressed with its overall performance for music and vocal although it is meant to be surr speakers.
*
So, I guess you'll be interested to get them? Last time, my first pair of B&W speakers was also the 600 series (the first batch), very good speakers, can be driven real hard without having to worry that the voice coils will be damaged. I believe the third generation of the 600 series should be miles better than the first generation ones. It's a pity I don't have a chance to audition them. By the way, where's the B&W showroom in KL now? Last time, many years ago, it was located at Midvalley if I'm not mistaken.

QUOTE(htkaki @ Apr 20 2008, 12:32 AM)
Considering it is new units and at RM2,600, worth getting if you already have good speaker stands. Else,  I would opt for 602.5 S3 as it is a floorstander. No need to look for stands.
*
Besides that, floorstanders have better bass extentions due to the extra cabinet size and volume

Between RX-V1800 and RX-V663, which one is recommended? Is RX-V663 good enough?
*
Obviously, the RX-V1800 is on the mid range group and if you need a video scaler to scale all your SD sources to HD resolutions, this is a good buy but if you just need an amp for lossless sound only in a mid sized hall, the RX-V663 is highly recommended.

I heard many said Yamaha speaker not good, is it true? Since i haven't hear the speaker yet because AV shop seldom sell it... whats ur guys opinion?

And i had a unit of 'old school' 5.1 Yamaha RX-V800, wanna ask the RX-V663 will have a lot of SQ improvement over RX-V800 in terms of stereo performance?
*
Well, what you heard might be partially right b'coz Yamaha do have high end speakers that won some overseas awards but to be frank, the price of those speakers are not worth it, as you can get better ones from other brands instead. The cheaper ones are entry level speakers which don't sound nice and totally no frills.
