Any iRacing petrol heads here ? IMO, much better than AC and GT6.

Why ?

Because of the ladder system and always packed with multiplayers

if you guys play iRacing, you'll amazed how tough to progress. Got my D license today after 3-4 days grinding in Rookie class

My first ever win ( https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hpho...a85ba2fc623c5ea ) ...Im not fast...just consistent to keep my SR ( safety rating up )...was in 5th or 6th...until somebody in the front screwed up badly and.....I took the lead and finish 2nd actually ( the 1st got penalties due to cutting line )

I was on the track with you this morning at Charlotte Motor Speedway! You added me afterwards. I honestly didn't expect to meet any other Malaysians. What a nice surprise biggrin.gif

Just got the game last night, installed this morning. Got my D license after my 1st win today. It was the only good race.. I screwed up most of the rest due to my lack of on track experience with other drivers. I spun out in 2 other races, finishing a few laps behind the leaders.

BTW, if any of you want to try out iRacing, you can use the "PR-NURBURGRINGEXPO" promo code to get your first 3 months FREE.

Thanks! I must admit I didn't have high hopes when I was installing iRacing; thought I was going to have very high ping, making it impossible to have an enjoyable race. Luckily it's not too bad!

I used to do a DIY one. It worked well. But the thing abt TrackIR is u have to turn ur head while keeping ur eyes straight lookin at the monitor.
Now we are looking forward with Occulous Rift DK2. I just received one for testing ysterday and will test it later tonite or tomorrow

Wow, that's a lot more affordable than I expected it to be! In terms of freedom of vision, it definitely can't beat a DK2 or multi monitors. But based on the YouTube videos I was checking out, it's still something worth looking into. Can I know how you got your DK2? Bought the kit straight from Oculus?

i'm holiday...so I missed iRacing so much....Now i'm in Class C......and this is where the real alien breeds.

So I take the plunge, and buy myself a RUF and joined the ruf official race.

Tadaaa....I was slower like 3-4 secs per lap.

Then I tried Aussie V8SC Holder.....at Barthrust I can't even compete with the slowest guy over there...must be sons of the expert aliens.

So I take deep breath and concentrate on Ford Spec Racer and Cadillac V8 on Global Challange. At least there're some hope...ha ha..

Ok...some updates.

1) I bought Derek Spears Design Sequential Pro shifter. Took me nearly 2 weeks to arrive from USA.

And the result are ...... I'm slower rather than using Paddle Shifter ( due to travel time from my hand to the shifter and,,still need to learn on how to match rev while downshifting )

Unfortunately no, unless its 2nd hand G25 or G27.

Other options around that range is Logitech Driving Force GT which cost a little lower than RM500. Lots programmable buttons on the wheel, also 900 degree rotation, if not mistaken same diameter as G25/G27 as well. Only downside is no clutch, no H shifter compared to G25/G27

lol tbh momo not that suitable to drive lori cuz very low rotation degree but playing with a wheel is still better than none. thumbup.gif

what's ur budget? 2nd hand momo, which is VERY rare can get about RM150~RM200. 2nd hand DFGT can get about rm250~RM350.

Need suggestions:

I am using the Logitech DFGT for GT5, Drit2. I find myself liking rally games more than track racing, maybe since I can move the steering like mad to correct and drift. Also, I am a beta tester for ganturgismo (http://granturgismo.com/) shifter which I moded to the DFGT. So my DFGT has proper shifters. Rally games rely on sequential shift anyway and I find the DFGT compact design better since I don't need to mount the shifter anywhere else.

I have tried the G25, and it is not for me. Main problems is the lack of buttons on the wheel. The G25 is quieter.

My main problem with the DFGT is the pedals. The plastic pedals. I've tried modding it with sponges, springs, not working. I have been thinking for sometime about the CSR elite: http://www.fanatec.com/us-en/pedals/csr-elite-pedals-us.html

Is it worth to get it to pair with the DFGT? Can't find it sold here.
