the CXMB is like a theme emulator rite? Can I use that to apply the converted themes (those normally needed to flash the flash0) ? unsure.gif
*
It is more like a 'flash0 redirector' plugin for themes where theme files that are supposed to be read/retrieved by the system to load are redirected to the theme files stored in the memory stick. CXMB 2.X reads .prx & rco files from memory stick but CXMB 3.X can only read .ctf package files.

To use the traditional .prx & .rco files (files for f0 flashing) on CXMB, the files must be converted into a single .ctf package first. 'CXMB full' can be used to convert those files into .ctf

Creating .ctf requires .ptf file (Sony's theme files format). .ptf files can be generated using a .ptf creator.

Basically:

.prx & rco + .ptf = .ctf

.ctf then can be used by both CXMB lite and full.

is there any theme can can totally change the XMB icons orientation? From several themes I ve tried on CXMB, I found out that many of them although have changed the icons looks, but still cant change the direction of browsing the icons.

They are still using left and right buttons to navigate between photos, video and games (the main XMB icons). Is there any way or any theme that override these ? Example I want to use up/down to navigate those main functions instead, or if can make them appear all at once, in thumbnail form is better tongue.gif

like this:

[System] [Photos]
[Music] [Video]
[Games] [Network]

the existing one is :

System- Photos- Music- Video- Games- Network

The navigation is hardcoded in the firmware and as far as you can go is change the appearance only.

everything use USB, but if u want to do flash0, USB is a must...but if u want to use cxmb then either usb or memory stick reader required...

halo,
I got a question here duno it is related or not? if it is not please remove my post.

I am using 3.90 M33-3 firmware, my problem is with the font of my game Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G(chinese version).

I m not sure is it because of my theme modification by replacing flash0 file has caused it to unable to show out my game font in chinese but other game are ok.

Any1 faced this problem before?

get urself into psp recovery mode by holding R while boot on ur psp...
go into advanced--->enable flash 0.....
in flash0 drive, u will c vsh folder.....open it then you will see 3 folders which is etc, resource and module...
all ur rco files are inside ur resource folder....

if you cant see those folders...go to tools--->folder options--->view--->click show hidden files n folders and uncheck the hide protected operating system files....then you'll be able to see those folders....
