Hey guys! I got some problem here. I dunno how to play the files. All the files end with an r followed by 2 numbers (eg: ro1, ro2, r03...etc). One of the files ended with .rar. What should I do to watch the movie? Sorry...Im a noob in these kind of things.... sweat.gif

Right now im using BitComet 0.82. The problem im facing is when im downloading a torrent, my internet connection speed will be extremely slow, i can say it almost cant open any pages, after i stop the torrent only back to normal speed. Why this happens, please advise thank you.

try to limit your upload and download speed if you wish to surf smooth while you are downloading.
for e.g. 1mb package, you can limit the upload to 24KBps. And try to limit the number of connections per task also.

or u may try the latest version of bitcomet 1.02

First, i've just check CfosSpeed site and i've read some forumer said that this software can boost internet speed, maintain low ping in online games, fast downloads but theres a few individual said it doesnt affect bitcomet download speed... And im a streamyx 88 per month package so which one i should download?

Second, why during noon till midnight bitcomet download speed is so slow, limited bandwidth also?
*
cfosSpeed does help a bit in a way or so, but depends on how is the situation. FYI, cfosSpeed still couldn't handle too much connections simultaneously.

if the speed always drop during that period of time... could b possible cause of throttle... but i'm not too sure on that... which area you in btw?

you need to download and install programs like WinRar or 7zip to extract the content first. Those .r01... until .rar are multiple archives compression.

to get 7zip (it's a freeware): http://www.filehippo.com/download_7-zip/3541/

just install as normal program, then after complete installation, right click on the .rar file and choose extract here.

Guys, i need some help about BitComet.

Currently I'm using Window XP Home Edition SP3, Bitcomet 1.02 and Tmnet Streamyx 1mbps package.
How do I turn the listen port become green which shown in the picture below?
I remembered last time I did it and the download speed is extremely fast (70~100kb/s) as i can receive from local and remote.
I'm now receive all Local only and the speed is around 30~39kb/s , sometime will reach 50kb/s but just a while only sad.gif

I'm experiencing the same problem as pspknightx.

Followed portforward.com's instructions and allowed BitComet in all firewall applicatoins. However, still no avail.

May be you can try to limit the number of connections per task? Or the upload limit to a lower value?

When there is no one surfing, you can always set the download speed to unlimited, while maintain your upload speed around 24KBps.
As for the other question... better google to find out brows.gif

Mine too.

I decrease the max simultaneous half open TCP connections and disable DHT network and I'm able to surf and download again.

But somehow my upload seems to sucks badly, haven't figured out that yet.

the recent windows update is revising the tcpip.sys and restricting the half-open tcp again. i increased the limit to 50 and so far it's working fine.

Hello torrent freaks. tongue.gif

I got a problem. Yeah, as usual. Most new post or replies are problems, problems and loads of problems. LOL

Aight, the problem is goes like this; I used to have 0.92 BitComet previously. All of a sudden, someone un-installed BitComet off this PC. So, the solution is to get it installed back again. Downloaded the latest BitComet 1.02 and got it up and running. So far, I've only managed to download 3 tasks ever since using this new 1.02 version.

Now, the problem shows up like few posts above, in a pop-up ballon saying 'Yellow Light'. Well, I took the initiative to Google it up for a solution. Then after reading the so called solution (from BitComet blog) I simply right click the 'Yellow Light' and chose 'Check Again'. After few tries, still, the Yellow Light still there. unsure.gif

I have no idea on how to get it solved.

I might try PortForward it. I think I haven't done it yet since 0.92. doh.gif

well, lets see if it goes any better.

oh btw, I simply install it. Didn't do any setup of download setting at all. Should I do?

pspknightx, your IP dude! Get the sccrenshot removed! laugh.gif

for those having problem with surfing the net after installing the latest windows update, do you have ZoneAlarm firewall installed?

I read somewhere that you need to update your ZoneAlarm to latest version, then it should be solved.

btw, still using Bitcomet 1.02 here and happy with the speed. But I notice if my IP starts with 218.xxx.xxx.xxx the d/l speed and number of seeds will be different than with 60.xxx.xxx.xxx

ah.. nvm. Just figured it out how to solve my own problem. Port Forwarding! tongue.gif

Oh ya, I wanted to know like my case, I do not let my router switched 'on' 24-7 and so that'll make my case falls under 'dynamic IPs'. Now, what bothers me is, do I need to do port forwarding each time the router is restarted because the IP will be differnt from previously?

I thought the first thing to do in port forwarding is to make sure your PC has a static IP address?
Manually assign your PC with a static IP address (e.g. if your router IP is 192.168.0.1, then assign your PC 192.168.0.2, with port forward to your IP). If you have other PCs in the network, just change the DHCP IP to start from other range to avoid conflict.
