u can play around by creating another layer to add some lighting or adjust particular layer on certain part n adjust the color, brightness or contrast (darker or brighter)
example:

wat i originally painted on the left without any post effect. while on the right with few color edit, added more lighting n make the focus point more contrast to bring out the character more. just play around with it til u satisfied.

used to japanese anime'ish style. they all have small chin. though i had a lot comment stating my female character look like a guy.

cleaned out the line (character only) n draft out her room (thx god her room is empty). color draft still untouched other than addin color to bg.


done this when im done drafting the previous one bg. notice few flaw when i shrink the image for posting. goin to fixed it.

i got lazied in few part so i decided to ditch it.

view count easily attained if u goes fav. frenzy (especially on those smaller deviant artist's works). seen someone without ne deviantation but having more than 10k page view. Well at least tats how i see. i wouldnt worry bout page view tat much if i were u.
