how much did you get it for and where can i find this? looks pretty good smile.gif

wow i just saw a few reviews on it you can put a lot of stuff in there lol. but the front two pockets look kinda tight though, are they? one of the videos i saw where this guy puts a few batteries in the front pocket and it looked like he had to stretch his hand all the way in to get them out.

and yeah the padding is kinda thin though hmm.gif

I'm not sure where you can find the bag in Malaysia. It's selling around Sgd300 in Singapore if I have not mistaken.
*
i see it for about RM600 on Shashinki. the Billingham Hadley Pro is about RM150 more than that but will never fit all those stuff though. now that i've seen this bag, becoming even more indecisive haha. its either the Billingham Hadley Pro / Large or this one.

Really RM600 only, then I might have remember wrongly the price.

thumbup.gif

If possible, you may want to have a look at the actual thing before you buy, cuz there are 3 different material for the same model, waxwear, ballistic and original. smile.gif
*
problem with KL is "exotic" bags hard to find laugh.gif . i assume waxwear is waterproof, original is canvas and ballistic is.....bulletproof? lol. which one do you recommend? i'm not really that fussy, as long as the bag is moderately water resistant, feels nice in the hands (and sometimes for me to use as a pillow laugh.gif ).

i'm interested in this one, i like the color a lot icon_rolleyes.gif . the material looks slightly like swede though, is it?

http://shashinki.com/shop/domke-ruggedwear...acturers_id=102

does it feel very ermmmm bulky to you? it looks slightly bulky like.... fat..? like if i wanna cramp into a myvi with 3 people at the back, will it be hard for me to hold on my lap?

New bag. smile.gif
*
i have the same one! mine's uprise 45 though tongue.gif. i like the bag a lot actually, don't have too much gear so it doesn't really matter to me that i can't fit a wholeeee arsenal in there. i like and don't like the back padding of the bag though. its too thick and makes it look very bulky lol. but it feels comfortable and if i'm sweating it doesn't absorb into the bag.

Haha... Not bulletproof, I think they just trying to say that the bag is super durable. For water resistant I think the rug wear/ wax wear version will be the best. As for the size, no complain, it follow me every where, very easy to handle, not a prob to put on your lap.
*
i saw a few reviews then noticed that to unbuckle the bag it seems to be a hassle. i don't really like the clip sweat.gif . is there velcro on the f-2? other than the clip it seems to be the ideal choice for me laugh.gif .

The main reason behind choosing Up-Rise 46 was the extra Laptop compartment. smile.gif
*
me too! other than that + the tripod compartment and i can fit a body + lens + grip attached in there. if don't have those features i wouldn't use it sweat.gif . makes me slouch forward a bit to compensate for the heaviness of the bag hurts my back a little after long long hours (especially when travelling)

Bro lintao, ya there is a Velcro besides the buckle, I feel that it is good to have such a secure buckle. What I normally do is to unbuckle the cover when I start shooting and buckle on when I travel around. There is strap holding the buckles, you can tighten or loosen the straps, if the strap is tight it will be more difficult for you to unbuckle. I think that the whole reason for having such a secure buckle is because it doesn't have a zip.
*
hmm ok that's good! cause i thought everytime close need to buckle, then open unbuckle, if its a different kind of buckle then yes why not. if there's velcro then good smile.gif, imagine if wanna change lens takes like 20seconds or so tongue.gif. cause i think i might have to "do it quick" cause mainly i'm taking photos of planes haha.

btw just ordered my Domke F-2 haha. my friend's dad is a pilot he's flying to new york next week he'll help me get it from bhphoto tongue.gif. hopefully he gets the waxwear one not the canvas one!

awesome bag! just got mine a few days ago from a shop in Taman Maluri. i thought all is the same price but i got my Ruggedwear (Brown) one for RM697 sweat.gif.

what i managed to fit in was : 60D + 17-40 attached, Canon A-1 (film camera), Samyang 8mm Fisheye, MacBook Pro 13", New iPad, Nissin Di622 flash (in one of the side pockets), and still got another slot for 2 lenses about the size of 70-200 each shocking.gif . that's with my portable iPhone charger + 2 rolls of film + Giottos blower + 17-40 lens hood + my wallet in the pockets icon_rolleyes.gif .

eventhough the padding looks thin, it really isn't that thin, its quite good. of course i won't carry all the gears mentioned above on a normal day, but i really love that i actually CAN bring all these with me if i needed to. and good thing is you can actually change the straps, not only use the straps that they provide. the straps feel comfortable but if its in contact with your skin and your bag is heavy it will hurt a little as it bites into your skin.

this is what my bag looks like btw, it looks small inside but its actually not haha. it can pass for a normal school sling bag unless the snatch thieves know their camera bags tongue.gif

all in all thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif for the bag, thank you for the recommendation! the safety clips are annoying to close and open and close and open, luckily there's velcro there if i'm in an event tongue.gif. and it looks very nice as well!

*one small hint, if any of you gets this bag, don't apply the wax that comes with the bag, i tried applying a little bit on the top but the difference is quite obvious so in the end have to apply on the whole top cover sweat.gif. its kinda sticky especially in our weather its hard to dry and it looks not so nice. i prefer the way it originally looks like the photo above.

Where did you put your Macbook? Nvr tried putting my macbook into the bag, today go home must try smile.gif
*
i didn't really tried it until today when i just received my 70-200. i misjudged the size of the tripod mount lol. with tripod mount attached and hood, it can just ngam ngam fit in : 60D + 17-40 &hood attached, 70-200 f4L USM +hood+tripodmount, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Canon A-1 + 50mm f/2 FD, Macbook Pro 13", new iPad with a super thick case. and the side pockets are empty, can actually fit in my samyang lens inside there haha, but don't dare coz no protection.

its like its meant to fit in the macbook pro haha, it fits in just nicely with just a little room to breathe.

user posted image

this is with everything mentioned above, except the 17-40hood + 70-200 hood. but i'm sure both will fit, coz the slot above the 70-200 is not occupied can lean the lens towards that slot. and the 70-200 hood can also obviously fit. the iPad is in the back slot, mine fits in quite nicely coz of the thick case.

user posted image

this is with the flap closed, i close and fasten the clips easily, just that i forgot to when i took the photo haha.

i also got BAS haha. i switched like 5-6 bags already rclxub.gif . eventhough i got my Domke F-2, i still look at a lot of bags haha. actually when i bought my domke f-2 i thought kinda regret a bit cause cannot fit MacBook, or so the shop owner says. but when i got home to try, found out it fits perfectly tongue.gif. i still think the hadley pro looks slightly better but its kinda small for what i need so nahhh hehe.

rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif i thought you're jajabinx haha. i visited your shop before end of last year to buy an incase ari marcopoulos from her. it looks a little too small and not really my taste hehe.

Ah, am not jajabinx tongue.gif

But yea, hmm, Ari a bit too small? Hehe, most complain its a bit too big for them. Sling packs best be of a certain size as being too big will make it hard to carry over a long period

Yea, I look at a lot of bags too. Tend to do it now and enter a luggage shop to check out bags and their quality. Some shopping malls think they can trick us with bad roller bags at a supposed discount sad.gif

Btw, if you like Domke, do drop by when the Millar series is in. Built with poly spun nylon for a classic feel but being very light, and having refined seat belt straps (was told that the straps costs a bit), with feather light dividers and YKK zippers and connectors, they look like your everyday old school bag (which is getting popular in Tokyo)

TG will also carry other popular brands, so it won't be brand biased, but will cater to everyone's needs
*
i was talking about the blue bag you posted but yeah same case also with the Ari. i think that its a little too small for me, especially with the non customizable inserts. i can't fit my 60D + 17-40 with hood attached in properly. i think its similar to the Hadley Pro, they're not really made to carry DSLR gears, more towards the m43 cameras haha. sure it can fit, but i don't think it was really designed for it, just my opinion.

anyway, i came to the conclusion that no matter what kind of bag, even with some weight reducing feature, you'll still feel the weight after awhile. with the Ari even with the so-called wide strap that's supposed to distribute the weight on your whole shoulder and this that, all i had in my bag was a 60D + 17-40 and my fisheye lens, after a few hours my shoulder started to ache already.

same with the Lowepro Slingshot 200AW, Vanguard Uprise-46, Incase Ari, and even with the Domke F-2(just the bags i used). all bags are still the same just depends which type you prefer biggrin.gif .

haha i don't think i'll ever ever visit your shop again, sorry tongue.gif. you can ask jajabinx if she remembers me, took me 3 hours to find your shop and another 2 to get back to kl rclxub.gif . mainly cause i'm bad with roads and to get to your shop its very confusing

I bought it in UK. I'm in UK now, doing my master here.

This bag is made in UK so it's cheaper to buy here. Bought it for around RM1K after convert tongue.gif

I know YL Camera carry some nice bags. Billingham, Artist & Artisan etc. My favourite shopping place while I was still studying in KL  thumbup.gif
*
wow the hadley large pro is a recent release right? was looking for something larger than the Pro but wanted the handle on top but they didn't have the hadley large pro at the moment so i opted for the Pro instead

that's really cheap, I bought my hadley pro at UK as well but it was around 200pounds I think
