TGV markets HFR 3D as 'normal' 3D at selected cinemas while GSC actually labels them 'hfr 3D' at Pavilion and Gardens...for those who found the motion-blurring just too much, you will definitely love the extra details found on 48fps.

Simply put, I strongly believe the movie is meant to be watched in its native format. Yes, it will take 30-60min for your eyes to adjust to the faster frame rates but it is very well worth it for the action scenes alone. Also, unlike previous 3D showing, the HFR 3D that I watched at 1U TGV was bright and clear (the horrible 2D at neighbouring GSC just could not compete at all when I watched it on Thursday).

And ironically, the afternoon cinema hall on Saturday where I watched the 'normal' 3D was completely empty (only 7 of us were in there) while the nearby IMAX hall was quite packed...this in 1U during a premiering weekend is almost unheard of. While understanding the commercial aspect of ticket sales (RM32 for IMAX 3D vs RM22 for 'normal' 3D), TGV doesn't do justice in its marketing of the Hobbit HFR 3D as they should have considering more of their venues actually supporting it...
