If you room is quite small better stick with 32". But then "small" is very subjective. And to be honest my eyes not fast enough to catch the difference between 60Hz and 100Hz.. I've tried many games on different panels yet still fail sad.gif

Full HD = 1920 x 1080 resolution
HD Ready usually have 1366 x 768 as native on LCDs.

For PS2 and NGC I don't think you'd want to spend more on a converter as they should look reasonably well by default. Of course if you want a converter then by all means go for it, but a good one could cost another 32" LCD TV nod.gif

Be prepared for hard time finding a NGC component cable.. they are pretty rare and demand quite a fee

Let your eyes decide which one is the better panel instead of sticking to a particular brand nod.gif

Why don’t just saying we’ll don’t see Samsung LED TV on action do we? I’m talking about general LCD vs. Plasma especially on Panasonic & I’m also Pioneer HDTV fan but the price always make me think twice. We might have some plasma better than LCD TV & there is also good LCD TV can match plasma on HD video, but I’m talking about general. Plasma always have high amazingly contrast ratio while Korean LCD panel usually can try matching them up on other area.

In my opinion still LCD is better for gaming & plasma for HD movie regardless HD-DVD, blu-ray or digital download/stream. LCD had sharp display for tense viewing while plasma had soft display for pleasure viewing.  For more clear picture just go to any electronics store & make comparison. Probably your eyes are different than mine so you won’t regret later. If you notice, there is always default setting for LCD TV on most game menu rather than plasma. M$ & SONY also would prefer LCD while make their game/console presentation.

Sharp is better known on it LCD. Aquos is their LCD HDTV brand. If you are buying for reliability & durability it was a good deal. However, I’m not saying Aquos will have best display. I have Sharp Aquos 46” Full HD with 10 000 contrast ratio & Toshiba REGZA 32” HD Ready with 10 000 contrast ratio. All I can say is my Toshiba REGZA always had better & brighter display than my Sharp Aquos. Since my Aquos is Full HD, I’m still using it for gaming. Toshiba REGZA is also using Korean/Seremban made LCD panel.

Do you know Sharp Aquos is assembled in Malaysia too? rolleyes.gif

bro i think you've reversed amduser's claim. he said LCD better for gaming and Plasma better for movies

You can never keep up to the technology unless you have a lot of money to burn. Just buy if you need it now nod.gif

That's an HDTV or projector? Does projector is same as HDTV. My hunger for knowledge still does not enough. Sorry to bother you.

Yes. Aquos manufactured in Malaysia. So they use their own LCD panel technology, which is R&D in Japan. Is it?
*
Not all using their own technology (panel wise). For 32" below it's certain they are made in Thailand by certain 3rd party. Some 32" and 37" are made by another well known 3rd party as well. Higher end models should be made my themselves, but I'm can't say for sure where, could be Japan. Final assembly usually takes place in other places like Malaysia.

I would choose Samsung's 40" A530, it fits into your budget and performs rather well. If you don't mind Plasma Panasonic's 40" range seems rather good as well

PS3 is very picky since it is SONY product. You should check whether your HDMI support 1080p & PS3 compatible. You can’t use using cheap HDMI since mostly PS3 won’t accept it. The most compatible should be theirs HDMI cable. It's a SONY.

Sometime your HDMI port could be a problem too. My friend just bought PS3 & got HDMI port problem & send it out for warranty.

Yes you can. But please save up some money to get yourself a decent monitor to play as that's the way the 360 games are meant for smile.gif

I think we already discuss this on Playstation section, or in another forum? Whatever. I’m too lazy to digging it back. yawn.gif

Then you got lucky because had well compatible one or you really look at the box which display PS3 compatible largely like mine.

Sure can, but your eyes will bleed to reading subtitle afterward. shocking.gif

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instead you all have time to corrected me (before someone corrected you back), how about helping that guy. That’s a better thing to do. icon_question.gif

Oh laugh.gif

I'm pretty sure we never had such discussion before cause you haven't posted anything in PS section before laugh.gif

But anyway, those who actually own a PS3 can tell you that even the RM20 Carefour HDMI cable works just fine nod.gif

nowadays many HDMI are also gold plated lar, and i dont even bother it is gold plated or not, maybe you should try other cable

i'm not using sony HDMI cable for my PS3 too, i'm using LG HDMI cable that cost me RM99 (the only choice near my place), and connect my Sony Playstation 3 to Samsung 32" full HD LCD TV, it seems like i got a rojak brand around my house, but all working fine

if you let me choose between RM30 HDMI cable and RM99 HDMI cable, i'll definitely take the cheap one.

True, and you actually tested it instead of acting smart nod.gif

i think it is not about cheapo/expensive HDMI cable, as long as the HDMI isn't broken it will work. Although durability comes with a price nod.gif

Hye guys im planning to get this LCD TV for gaming : PS3 etc.

http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/televis...type=prd_detail

is it good?
*
Isn't that model exclusive to SenQ in Malaysia?

I have seen it, but not tested it. Initial impression is that it is so much more better than 530 in terms of contrast.

Can't really comment on the price because I would have gotten a Panasonic S10 with that price. But then I prefer playing in the dark so plasma suits me better. But if you were to get it remember to get the +2yrs warranty as well smile.gif
