Machines is doing a great promotion in February which is top up for the 2gb memory ram for only RM299 ( previously was 1199 then reprice to RM699, now RM299 ) It is worth to upgrade ur mac ram in February biggrin.gif

Other than ram, others just like normal lolx. 2x rebate (for the next item) is given out for machines members.

For more informations pls visit http://www.machines.com.my

Can anyone update the promotions in mac studio, maccity or epicentre? Consumer got the rights to choose tongue.gif

@BibirOn,
It didn't state whether u need to purchase a unit in order to be eligible for the RM299 top up RAM smile.gif I wouldn't mind forking out additional RM299 for a 2GB RAM except I can't afford to buy another machine!

It sure looks like I've to find ways to get a machine's membership now ! *sigh*

@babyk,
You mean that RM299 2GB is for members? As long as u hold a machines membership card, u are entitled to purchase the RAM at RM299?

PS: I don't mind an iPhone, not an iPod Shuffle

Lol, think Apple.... think 'super premium prices for valueless items if they weren't branded as Apple' wink.gif Let me get this straight.... Is this RM299 for a top up OF 2GB of RAM (add 2GB), or a top up TO 2Gb of RAM (increase to 2GB)?

Either way, it's still not cheap at all. Typical Apple pricing, nothing to get excited about really....

we do talk about apple ram, but as far as i know that new macs can put in normal notebook ram rite?? blush.gif

@Samanoske Akechi
i think add another 2GB ram, means if by default is 1GB ram, with this promo u will get a total of 3GB ram i guess... notworthy.gif

Not to say new mac la. older mac also can. As long as you know which the actual type of ram, example like the speed and clock speed of the apple RAM.

Exactly.

Apple RAM is just CERTIFIED or 100% guarantee works in your machine. Btw, other brand also got such ram, like Dell and etc wink.gif

This is quite dumb actually. I mean, their certification literally proves almost nothing. If the MacBook screws up and they end up replacing some faulty RAM, what good would their certification prove as then?

Well, it doesnt stated that u ve to purchase a new mac to entitle for the 2gb memory ram, correct me if i made a mistake.

So for example, if for the macbook, it comes with 2 sticks of 512 memory ram. So if u top up the 2gb memory ram, u can upgrade ur machines to 2.5 memory.

Previously the Epicentre is giving out free the 1gb memory ram with any purchase of iMac.

Latest update: Machines is closed on 7pm today for annual dinner.

I meant no offence, if any has been inflicted. What I meant to express was my concerns over warranty claims. Not that I'm being a blind critic on Apple's pricing traditions or anything, but it just adds to the fact that the extra bit that we're paying extra money for is the mere exclusiveness and branding alone. In terms of guarantee and peace of mind, I doubt any certification would be worth a wooden nickel to the user with a faulty Mac with the supposedly 100% guranteed functional hardware.

Sorry, yeah. Perhaps I am making some unnecessary critical comments....
