Just a random question.
Do you guys get sick often ?
Since the weather is like so diff from KL's  hmm.gif

if weather features much in being sick, the brits would be a nation of very sick people.......yet they won oodles more olympic medals than msia......... biggrin.gif

the flu jab you received is likely japanese b encephalitis jab, and will NOT protect you from you common 'flu' or colds, which are caused by a host of different viruses....... wink.gif

Hei guys..

To stay on-campus accomodation with 3 meals per day, 7 days per week for a AUD 351 rental is better, or staying in self-catered apartment for a cheaper price around AUD 200 is better? I'm going to UNSW Sydney btw.
*
for a start-up, when you first arrived, residential college accommodation is much easier, less stress, less hassle........but more expensive......so consider that for one or two sems.........

then, most people will get more familiar with the places, new friends, etc, and move out to a flat/apt/shared housing, and do cooking themselves.....save some money........

trying to cope with a new place, finding digs, food, furniture, transportation, etc can be hell when you first arrived at a strange place.........

why are you responding to a 8 month old post?

in any case, agents like idp help you secure an offer of a course, but not accommodation, beyond their scope..........

idp cannot get you a place without ielts, if that is required by the university......

there are waivers for ielts for international students, particularly if the pre-u qualification used to apply is conducted in english......eg a-levels, sam etc......check with the relevant uni what their official policy is........

If you got SPM 1119 Certificate with a grade C6 and above you would not have to sit IELTS though or some english qualifications during A-lvls or SAM or 1 year of studies at uni
*
not all unis will accept 1119........c6 is actually a poor grade, for the purpose of academic pursuits........ielts is a reliable assessment because it contains the full 4 components of any language........reading, writing, speaking, listening.....and the academic ielts (cf general) contains specific components for academic use of english, which is quite different from general communication english......

just curious ... , what are you guys being tested on IELTS? english essays? oral? laugh.gif
I have classmates that failed IELTS 2 / 3 times before passing ...  sweat.gif
*
there is no such thing as 'fail' ielts......everybody is given a band grade, from 1 to 9, 1 being totally non-english user to 9 being expert english user........nobody fails.........

what people mean when they say the 'fail' is that they failed to meet the requirements of whatever that needs english testing, be it to enter uni, to apply for a job, to apply for pr, etc..........this minimum band requirement will of course vary, depending on the situation......eg, you need band 7 for laws and medicine courses.......but band 6 for pr application......and there are 2 categories of ielts, general and academic........

for what is tested, see my post above.......
