(btw i dont have any music base AT ALL ) so i've read this thread. it has been helpful for a newbie like me. i'm 17 years old. i know it is quite old for me to start playing violin. anyway, i'm thinking of buying a violin. my budget is around RM400 nia. hopefully i can get an ok violin with only that amount of money. do you think i should take lessons first b4 buying a violin or buy first then go for lessons? pls help me!

QUOTE(empire @ Feb 26 2009, 05:59 PM) Niloiv..you can ask little ice to be your teacher. he memang gifted in teaching cos unlike me...he's more patient. LOL! aduh... if i can sure i ask little ice la. i see him giving a lot of advice and answer a lot of question in this forum lei. haiz... but then i live in a town where everything is hard to find... even finding a musical instrument dealer also hard. surely little ice wont be living anywhere near my hometown. QUOTE(Violin! @ Mar 9 2009, 11:36 PM) I just simply brought a violin recommended by the music school. I brought my first violin for just RM309, small roundup discount till RM300. So again we ask questions, how about your violin? hmm... i bought mine from an old music shop. i guess the shop tauke doesnt see much guests visiting his shop, so... he was so keen to sell any of his violin. so i just bought the violin he recommended... around RM280 nia lei. but i must say the violin looks... not so new. but still i like it. hehe... well, thanks for responding to all of my questions. good luck with ur violin lessons!
