QUOTE(subangman @ Jul 30 2009, 11:18 PM) come on .. u pay peanuts u'll get monkeys so as they said. So in total would be RM1800? But Sec14 cello shop offer Solid Wood Cello for only RM1300... will that sound like plywood?RM1300 cello sound like Kapok (plywood) if u r really keen go Vibrante @ SS19.. ask for their discounted cello made by Scott Cao.. only extra RM500max. so tat u got no cursing ! Anyway for ur info i got nothing to do wit them... just 2cents opinion. |

Hi everyone,
Currently interested in learning Cello/Double Bass May I know the differences between these two in term of price, size, weight cause I need to carry myself instead of using car to transport it if possible. Thanks a lot... |

subangman:
means I can carry a cello over shoulder, but not a double bass? What is e-double bass? electronically amplified version? considering all aspects, which one would be better? |

QUOTE(BelowAverage @ Feb 2 2010, 11:41 PM) i prefer cello. Yea I prefer solo and more on bowing, to either perform classical orchestra and chamber music...double bass not so nice when u perform solo to people. but cello, u can play bach suite to people, so nice~ its much mellower, sweeter than a violin, sometimes i prefer cello sound more to violin. double bass? nono~ good for orchestra only D bass, only good for plucking, orchestra instead of solo rite? I chatted with violin shop owner for almost 1 hour ++... he told me a lot of cello and double bass thingy... He said, for classical and solo, go for cello; if for jazz, chinese orchestra, or play in a group for orchestra, choose d. bass. |

QUOTE(cassiemissy @ Mar 15 2010, 01:17 PM) I live in PJ Sec 14, near Digital Mall & Jaya 33 mall, The Amadeus Violin shop is just located at one of the shop lots there. For my cello lesson, RM110 per month, usually 4 lesson per month(once per week), 30 mins per lesson. You will need to buy a cello set (a full-size cello(or 3/4 size) a bow, rosin included), a beginner's book for cello, a music stand, and endpin stopper. If you are interested, drop me a pm for the contact. |
