QUOTE(danekoh @ Jul 24 2018, 11:48 PM) Planning to do house reno at my house at usj area im currently for contractor to do tiles work. thus the price for item 1 i think is fair, at least it is to cheapest by far i come across. The indon contractor quote 1) rm5/sqft for remove old tiles + floor screeding + install new tiles (floor) 2) rm3/sqft for remove old tiles + install new tiles (wall) 3) rm11/sqft for brick laying + plastering Just curious if you hired this contractor ? if yes, how is the workmanship? |

QUOTE(arabella @ Aug 16 2018, 08:32 PM) Rm 5 / sq ft? This is so depressing, a contractor quoted something like Rm 27 per sq ft. because he will ‘level the floor’ before laying the tiles. No old tiles, it is a new place with cement rendered floors. Does he mean the same thing as screeding? It sounds very similar, but even if it is not and the man is local, rm 25 different is very large, isn’t it? Pardon my ignorance, first time renovating a high rise apartment. Should be no supply of material. Provided u ready to take the risk... high risk high saving No doubt foreigners are the backbone of renovation industry but if u guys engaged them direct, u will put local contractor out of job and don’t forget these ppl are foreigner, When they do business like this, they are illegal ! Foreigner is suppose to be workforce only |

Hi all,
How much do you all think it cost to build from an old house (40+years old) to the 2 Youtube featured here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OFopy6ysb8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8albjm-C89U I only know the below : 1. removing the stairs and put in a new one for 3 floors will take about 20 to 50k (depending on quality and design) 2. 4 Pane Super high folding doors will cost more then 50k Thanks |

QUOTE(Batu1235 @ Mar 31 2021, 10:04 AM) Hi all, You are speaking of renovation with exquisite workmanship, where raw materials alone may easily cost you hundreds of thousand based on the video shown. The first thing you do is to start talking to a chartered architect (Ar). You may want to engage the service of a chartered interior designer (IDr). You are welcome to share your findings with us over here.
