I doubt it is the vcore..... hmm.gif considering that it is priming stable at 3.15Ghz at 1.1325v (BIOS set) @ 1.072v CPUz...

Reduced the CPU multipler to 6.0x and tried to run at 6.0 x 430mhz = 2580mhz.... can't get past the FSB wall.... sad.gif

Yeah, the CPU multiplier is a REAL DISADVANTAGE!!! vmad.gif

Dunno... I never did test the FSB wall of the mobo... my previous P35-DS3 could hit 480mhz on the FSB.... this current one never tested before....

Searching the net.... looks like the normal FSB wall for the CPU is around 440-480mhz...

Probably can get a bit higher if I had a mobo with more settings....

As pointed out above, the temperature sensor is a faulty. Now priming, Core temp shows 65-70'c while Easytune5 shows 42'c!!! sweat.gif

At idle, it is 53-57'c on core temp, which is very unlikely....

Didn't bench yet as now priming...

Sell? Already advertise my Q6600 at garage sales la.... wink.gif

mayb update to latest bios ?
*
Was thinking of that..... but afraid of ending up with another dead mobo....

I've no spare mobo at the moment.... sad.gif

Damn, my comp rebooted..... looks like not stable at 1.1325v @ 3.15Ghz....

Update : LOL! The culprit was the trd!!! Set to "Auto", it was 8. I set it to 10 and now, I can OC past 3.2Ghz.... woooo hoooooooo!

Congratulation there kmarc, nice the VID quite nice there....... hrm.... may be i get from kuching gaduh to play around too, a bit sien with my e2220 already now haha.....

btw does DS3 have Vtt and Gtl adjustment ?

any luck 500 fsb on this babe?
*
Haizzz.. hit another FSB wall at 445mhz.... doh.gif

Nope, the DS3 doesn't have VTT or GTL settings.... too bad... sad.gif

My blood iron does have those settings but it is in my 2nd rig... lazy to take out.... blush.gif

On further reading, most people reported that the FSB wall for this proc is around 450-475mhz...

QUOTE(toughnut @ Aug 16 2008, 09:01 AM)
afaik, gayboard doesnt have GTL VTT adjustment, at least on low and midrange board. i use P35-DS3P crossfire and EP35-DS3 before, no adjustment for it. correct me if wrong. i wish it have though sad.gif

@kmarc
bro, how the OC? would like to see the outcome. if can push till 3.4 or 3.6Ghz stable on x3220, will cari gaduh with that kucing liau haha
*
I've done trying to go over the new FSB wall as my mobo doesn't have those advance settings.

Now searching for stability at 3.26Ghz (435mhz x 7.5).... bios vcore set at 1.175v, load vcore cpuz at 1.104v....

Yeah, unless you can get one with higher FSB wall.... many forums claimed to have better OC with those advance settings though....

Ask catgaduh lor, maybe he got a few "gems" in his possession.... smile.gif

Haha.... long story....last time RMA my DS3 after it went dead during bios flash... then bought the blood iron... after RMA back, tested out the mobo while I transfer the blood iron to my 2nd rig.... after testing, lazy to switch back... haha....

Thx. When is yours coming? drool.gif

Realtemp and core temp are the same..... I just adjust the Tjunction of core temp (to 95'c for this proc) and presto! the readings are the same... laugh.gif

Yup, lots of penryn temperature sensor are defective...

I see....

The Tjunction of penryn quads is not certain.... some say it is 95'c, some say it is 85'c.... on average, most forums take 95'c.....

Nobody knows the tjunction of Intel's desktop processor. However, that's going to change once Intel announces the specs of the CPU DTS at the IDF....

In the meantime, can read about the tjunction in my CPU core temperature guide wink.gif

Well I am running my E8500 CO stepping at VCore 1.2825v for FSB430

Temps are 39C at Idle and 67C on 100% load for 1 hour under Orthos.

Just having my hand on this OC business. I seem to get memory errors running at a lower VCore, hmn... not sure why. Is the VCore setting to high or just alright??
*
430 x 9.5 = 4085mhz? That's a good OC. thumbup.gif

Intel states that the max vcore for your proc is 1.3625v so your vcore is ok at the moment..... smile.gif
