Hey guys.. Can anyone teach me how to make the Edge symbol dissapear from my screen? I am using 1.1.2 OTB and digi user.. Thx you!

Removing the EDGE 'E' icon next to your carrier name in the upper-left hand corner would refer to turning off your EDGE. For 1.1.2 and below, install Services or iToggle from Installer, then disable EDGE from there. Simple as that, mate

Alright, Just to clarify once and for all to all those who asked and are still curious, the 'Erase All Contents & Settings' functions literally empties all media, data, settings and preferences inside the phone. However, take note that the firmware and baseband remain UNTOUCHED, thus your jailbreaks + anySIM/IPSF flashed basebands are not affected. Hope this can reduce the number of one-liners regarding the matter

Added on January 29, 2008, 8:25 pmHaha, you got a point, mate. Perhaps it just intimidates people who don't have unlimited EDGE data plans, if you get what I mean. Everyone's trying to avoid the scenario with emptied credits and/or mile-long bills thanks to unintended EDGE transfer

better way if u really dont want it ever there.. just install customize and change it to blank.

That kinda defeats the point of having the icon there, don't you think? I won't say for your case, but I'm running Maxis fine without any signs of this icon. Disabling it should dismiss the presence of the icon, unless of course it's another unusually isolated case for your phone, mate.

Varies with users, but yeah, the Customize icon removal should do the trick if you're desperate.

It does as i see someone manages to get rid of it.

But the image set in customize (Designer's Image Set 1&2) doesnt change the carrier logo.

I'm dying to get an apple logo for my carrier name ...... aikz

Yah, finally downgraded to 1.1.2...that was hard work...lesson learned -- you should wait at least a month after a fw release hack to make sure everything is okay. sigh.

Have you considered the possibility of ROM files stored in the /var/root/Media section of the phone? They could've been stored for games like NES, gpsPhone and psx4all.

Now mine goes up to 299.5 MB

For me, I never install any games which you mentioned above.
