My stars bought from Malacca. Kindly give comments and advise I'm seriously noob.
Here is my humble rig

substrate: those pine/cedar/whatever odorous shavings should be changed ASAP. at the mean time, you could just use newspaper. and next time you use substrate, make it thicker.

lighting: those aquarium lighting provides neither suitable heat nor UVB. use a combination of normal osram bulbs and uvb bulb. in this rainy season, those tortoises are going to have some serious problem without proper heating.

please make changes ASAP (aka TODAY), don't wait after CNY.

hey.. no one mentioned there was an after tea thingy 

regarding the wood chip, today i found 2 small pieces of wood chip in my 3 inches star poo, i think he might be accidentally eat the wood chip...

i think we might have to reconsider which substrate is good for our tortoise, another thing about the wood chip is that they seem to keep moisture and kinda hard for them to dry. to me the best would be the turned upside down tile.

btw the wood chip im using is as the image below, the star in the picture is around 2 inches big.

Would it help if you buy XXL size? This brand hard to find sometimes. Pet Safari got 5 packets of XXL, I sapu all that day. RM24/each. Now left with small size type

New member reporting in! (after 11th pages of V3    ) 

Just bought my niece a star last weekend. Bought it from Selayang Baru shop (i don't know whether this is the shop you guys were saying about) but the shop have all kind of exotic animals. Saw 2 big ally and long neck there, monkeys, birds, marine fishes (this tow key is all rounder man!!) Also there is an alligator (or is it crocodile) in the shop!!   

BTW, last night went to PS Ikano to find basking lamp for the star . Luckily the staff there quite friendly and he guide me to buy which kind of bulb. plus there is 1 guy (customer there) also give piece of advice on the bulb.   
here it is (dont know the gender yet, and no name yet)

BTW, how long should i puts on the heat lamp? during the night i bring the tortise into my room (fully aircond, set to 23deg temp) so i puts on the lamp for whole night. Day time im not that worry because my maid will help me to let the star out  for sunlight (also for my niece to play with)

I think bedrooms are not meant for any pets. Not too hygiene

Curious about which 12 species you are keeping ? Do you mind telling us ?
How big enclosure you giving them or you mixing certain species in one ?

how can u manage to keep it's carapace so clean? u scrub it often? and is ur snapper's tank water level din cover de snapper's carapace? is tis better for snappers?

u have tried it bfore ? is it working ?

i put my torts outside when i'm at home.....no place to put inside....
btw...i'm using analog hygrometer n thermometer....
many people already told me that analog 1 is not accurate and i'm trying to buy a digital 1.....
but cant find any. at pets safari already sold out.....now still searching for 1.....aihhh....got a very2 bad luck in tiz hobby   

my thermometer is at yellow entering red level....kinda gud for ST...but my hygrometer showing green entering blue level....not gud for ST.....
so i'm wandering...is the hygrometer is not accurate enough or my tank humidity level is high.....
