Pre PMA 2008: Fujifilm has unveiled what it is calling the 'ultimate F Series' digital camera, the F100fd. Positioned as the flagship model (above the recently announced F50fd), the 12 megapixel F100fd sports a 5x 28-140mm zoom lens, Face Detection 3.0 and sensitivity settings of up to (cough) ISO 12800. More interestingly the F100fd is claimed to offer Wide Dynamic Range capabilities similar to those found on the S5 Pro digital SLR.

12mp on 1/1.6" sensor , doesn't sound good still.

yeah, I think performance will still sucks compare to F31fd. let's see the review when it come out. i have high hope that it'll be good. i dun wan to lug around dSLR

Haha. If this thing can take over the place of an entry level dSLR, it should be the best selling camera model of the year already. We shall wait for the reviews and see. xD

They can take away the ISO 12800. Can't imagine what I'll want to do with that feature.

I'm seeing mechanical image stabiliser, which F31fd doesn't have. If this camera is priced about 1K, I'm sure it will sell like hot cakes.

that is wat most of the people keep on telling others the spec, not the output or quality. Specs look good, so the IQ should look good.

maybe changing my mind on canon G9
can support up to ISO 12800, so i guess it wont too bad with ISO 800 and ISO 1600 atleast

yes, I'm really happy to see mechanical IS which I think is using CCD shift.

High ISO. SR on long exposure. This is super low light camera.

not another 12MP sensor

ya, i hope fuji wont release this camera just to join the megapixels war

a usable iso800 would be good enough iso 12800 is at reduced resolution to 3mp anyways.

Quite upset with it too. But F50fd already an upset with 12mp

WAH... ISO 12800!!! Some more such a small sensor...

I guess Fuji technology are 100 times more geng than Canon, Nikon and Sony!

Why buy dSLR where you can enjoy ISO 12800 on compact?

The quality will be same as F50fd for sure which is dissapointing.

The improve ISO is just marketting gimmick, it doesn't matter, since it is 3MP anyway.

Screw u Fuji, bring back the 6MP sensor

Imagine if Fuji use similar technology into larger sensor size like Canon & Nikon dSLR, it will beat both Canon & Nikon by 100 times! And low noise performance will beat Canon 1D mark III and Nikon D3!

normally they use the compacts as experiment model..

Shuttter speed 4 sec. to 1/1500 sec

is this the correct spec for this new digicam?

1/1500 is slow

and 4 sec. is not enuff

should have 60 sec to 1/8000 sec and bulb mode. Or at least 1/4000 sec
