QUOTE(derek87 @ Mar 13 2008, 10:59 AM) I AM waiting for it... Now enough dough to buy 40D, but not enough to couple it with a good lens. So decided to buy a kit lens replacement first... So by the time 50D come out... hehe.. probably i'll be getting it... if i consider what i spent so far, probably could get a 5D and a few more stuff. |

Just let you guys know that I had confirm with my personal test that 5D image quality is obviously better than both my 30D/40D. The quality of rendering and actual sharpnes in detail due to higher SnR is obvious! by the time i have enough for 40D i think the replacement for the 5D will be out liao, i can hunt for 2nd hand 5D FF is FF.... Even a 2 years old FF still beat my relatively new 40D! This post has been edited by TheVoIP: Mar 13 2008, 02:20 PM |

you're missing the point la.
for X price, APS-C body + a bunch of lens would allow you to have more range of shots compared to FF body. can show you picture, you also won't know if it's taken by what kind of body. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Mar 13 2008, 02:26 PM) This statement is incorrect.First case -> If anyone shooting some picture with 85L +5D wide open for some potrait like kids in a garden, experinced shooter can know it is from FF becasue crop factor cannot reproduce the same amount of background blur. And if fact, from seeing the way how the background blur, already know which brand & lense. Second case -> If you should with 5D with Sigma 12-24 lense at 12mm, experinced photographer also know they are from FF + Sigma 12-24 because it is so wide. And it cannot be reproduce with other crop factor camera or other lenses Third case -> Experince photographers also can tell potrait pictures taken with 300 f2.8 wide open on FF. Again, similar beautiful bokeh and perspective cannot be reproduce by other crop factor camera and lenses. I just mention 3 cases... there should be much more... |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Mar 13 2008, 04:03 PM) aiseh you didn't get what i was implying. Not only that... most pictures from newspaper, especially those sport section can easily tell thier lense used also... It seems most are using 400 f2.8.all the cases you mentioned are 1. shots that gave way / hint that people can pick up 2. requires experienced photographer to detect Some time from a group pictures also can tell... If everything is so perfect with no distortion... and you see the relative size from faces to faces to get the focal length.... then compare first row to second to confirn the focal length... see how the storing light source spread into star, and you also can basically get the lense used liao. By the way, it is not easy to take a simple.... but perfect group picture This post has been edited by TheVoIP: Mar 13 2008, 04:11 PM |

that still doesn't help in disproving the fact that the general public (and even photographers) won't even know what body / brand / lens was used to snap a picture.

Can I consider myself as general public? I see my friends also can see what lenses being used to take pictures. |
