guys, what's the "average" aperture value for group shots? F8? F11?

Usually I'll use f8-f11 depending on how many rows of them.
*

so usually it's between F8-F11 right? cause i'm having a gathering and i want to make sure. smile.gif

more like controlling depth of field.

anyway my post wasn't about depth of field, it's about sharpness.

sure it can go f1.8 but for lenses, they're not at their sharpest when at their widest aperture. which is why snapping at f1.8 on the 50mm would mean that you not only have lesser DOF but also less sharp pictures.
*

that's why it's important to snap at one or two stops above the lowest aperture value right? unsure.gif

apparently the fella also hasn't figure out why there are buttons placed on it the grip that emulates the original buttons on the camera body.

clearly it's not about the size of the lens.

Added on January 27, 2008, 12:37 am

more like below the highest value. smile.gif remember, higher (wider) the aperture means lower number.
*

ahh.. yeah yeah.. sorry about that. i replied and terus off the PC. i was thinking of turning it on the change but malas. tongue.gif

QUOTE(vikingw2k @ Jan 27 2008, 12:40 AM)
Usually I'll snap 3 steps above the highest aperture. Sometimes I do shoot @ f2 using my 50mm f1.8 tongue.gif
It depends.
*

to take pics through the fence or for additional bokeh right? laugh.gif

Anyway.. Rm450 + battery = good deal, most ppl here got it for Rm470-480 w/o battery. I got it for RM440 w/o battery in S'pore

next month when I come back from US(still unconfirmed going) will get a 580EX II and thinking of buying extra to bring back and sell to you guys. I'll have to see how much $$ I have on hand to pay for it 1st lah..

Shereen: Lambency flash diffuser.flash seems like a good knockoff to get. Shashinki selling for RM89. Ebay.my selling it for Rm119 (crazy ah?) It looks very nice esp the canon pic w/ diffuser on right? How well does it work on reflective surface like on the back LCD of the camera?

Or AUD9 from Ebay.com (you know I'm getting poisoned already..!!)

USD15 from Ebay.com (2 type of clour cap)Ebay.com

Dude all. Is it my holding style or something but after a photo session, the arms very tired lah. (and in pain) due to holding the camera esp on the shoulders. Seems like I'm in tension during the photo session. Is this normal? Perhaps I'm not holding the camera properly?

AAARGRGGGGhhhh... poison!!! Some more going US!! Lagi teruk poison...
*

which part of the US are you heading? smile.gif

I might do a bulk buy on 3rd lens hood, maybe you guys could start to list which lens hood you guys are looking for.
Btw I do have an extra Orignal Canon 70-200mm f4 L's lend hood and a Rubber retractable hood which fits lens which uses 67mm filter e.g. Tammy 17-50mm f2.8. In case anybody interested.

On the other hand, how's the Bkt Tinggi outing plan going on? Can't wait to go there biggrin.gif
