Nama... Danish... A'ish... Isk, isk, isk... tongue.gif

Hehe. Well on my part pulak opposite, I like short hair and my husband likes long hair(or semi long hair asal ada ekor kembang tongue.gif) That's why Oren end up as permanent resident... Nasib baik lah he is semi long hair only, tu pun penuh bulu dia kat rumah doh.gif

Yeah lah, been meaning to try EVO too...

Orijen also is grain free and very high in protein smile.gif

So far satisfied with Orijen and Eagle Pack, but for emergency cases I have to grab Science Plan... Speaking of which, Mia doesn't like Science Plan sweat.gif

QUOTE(arraille @ Apr 16 2008, 03:41 PM)
not the ingredients... what i heard is that, the RC Persian kibbles shape is different coz easy for the persian, i mean pure persian (flat face) to eat the kibbles... due to their flat face, it's hard for them to eat the round shape kibbles... that's what i heard la...
*

Really? The kibbles are designed to suit their flat face?

Hehehe, kesian pulak dengar tongue.gif

Pets Own is less than RM10, but it needs to be consumed with few days lah as it is fresh liquid type.

If 1-2 months, I don't think a bottle is necessary as well, can teach her to drink the milk from the bowl.

Hopefully she will eat the soft food.

Oh no! Worms!

If she has vomited the worm med, you must make her take it again because if she doesn't the worms will still be in her stomach and this can effect her badly as she is still a kitten.

I think I know the diet the doc gave you, it's in a can with white label and very watery. It's good if she will eat it. Try warming it a bit to make the smell come out and make it attract the kitten a bit.

If she is sick, first time eat it will vomit, but keep giving it to her.

I hope she will recover soon.

ya its in a small can, if not mistaken is called a/d ...i felt very bad forcing her to eat and she vomit all out...she doesnt even wanna drink water and she is having fever now.. rclxub.gif
*

Cats with fever will always want to sleep more and do nothing.

They don't like how their body is feeling as it is fighting with the fever.

Like elf said, some cats can heal themselves, some may need meds.

Giving meds can help them heal faster, so make sure she eats the fever pills and antibiotic.

If she doesn't take pills very well, you can ask for syrup type.

-----

My kibble supply is running low and since the frozen raw food packed by Mia's foster parent is still available, I decided to give Mia the raw food(lamb) and Oren the kibbles. Because Mia is used to the raw food and Oren doesn't want to eat it.

So Mia ate the raw food, but few minutes later she throw up everything back out!

I was so surprised...

She was meowing back in hunger... Gave the kibbles... But she don't want... So I had to boil some chicken meat for her, which she lap up with pleasure...

Then my husband said no more raw food for them... sweat.gif

maybe terasa "mual" is it the correct malay word, if u eat something than feeling vomit? "Mual" or "Muak" ?  doh.gif  sweat.gif

like one of my cat, makan apa apa soft food, makanan tin, ayam rebus = end up vomit lepas tu. vet kata stomach dia memang sensitive. vet told me, if she is born not to eat all this, she is lucky to be a house pet - because she will eat the kibbles.
*

It's "mual" smile.gif

Tu lah, but before this the prev owner gave her the raw food most of time and I did give the one she packed for like a couple of times already... Dunno why she vomit yesterday... If sempat, wanna bring her to the vet tomorrow and see... I think she is also not gaining weight sad.gif

QUOTE(sangrenab @ Apr 18 2008, 03:54 PM)
T_________T

My cat choked on pills prescribed from our vet. Usually he would take it down normally. Takde masalah punya lah. But on that fateful day, my mom and me was feeding him his pills, and then he sort of coughed a bit and then his whole body shook weirdly. He was twisted this and that and I could still remember how his pupils dilated big and he died in my arms. Both of us were so shocked, it took us a while to figure out what was happening.

Took my dad years to convince me to have another cat after that incident.

Well, that was about 13 years ago, and yet I will feel sad everytime I thought of it.

T__________________________________T

So nowadays, my dad always remembered to get the syrups one instead of pills. If we had to get the pills, my mom would crushed them in the cat's food first before feeding.

Tapi bila dah besar sekarang ni, macam jeles pulak I tengok how my dad lebih kan the Kucing rather than me, his own kid. Its cute, but agak melampau jugak lah kan sampai kena halau from a very comfy sofa just because the Kucing wants to sleep there.

SIGH~
*

What a traumatized experience...

So far I will always break the pills into 2 before feeding my cat and drop it properly into his mouth...

Wahh, kena halau from sofa?? I always share the sofa with my cat, or my bed, or the bean bag sweat.gif

KP, hows Oren and Mia/Mila/Miya/Mira doing?
*

It's just Mia smile.gif

Still caging Mia and let her out with supervision.

She's okay with Oren around, but doesn't like it when Oren try to play with her or touch her...

Oren is okay with her, he loves having a friend and always wanna "ajak" her play around. Sometimes the way he plays also a bit rough, you know like "gurau kasar" which makes Mia mad at him and run back into the cage... Oren is just too playful...

Yes, Mia is spayed prior to adopting her.

She was also vaccinated and de-wormed.

All that for only RM50 adoption fee.

wah hit a cat!  blink.gif have you hug your kitten and say sorry?

i think i did mention before, whenever you do anything bad that make your cat scare and pain, they will keep that forever. most cat will. and they will hate and scare of you. unless you do something that make he/she accept your apology.
*

Yup... When you hit a cat or "jentik telinga" dia when they are naughty, you must say you're sorry later on... This will make them understand that you did not mean to hit them before.

If you don't apologize by hugging them or stroking them, they will be afraid of you.

I always hug Oren back and apologize to him if I "jentik" his ears smile.gif

QUOTE(sangrenab @ Apr 20 2008, 02:55 AM)
you guys ever tried using the stick thingy to train your cats to toilet?

Its like this; you take one stick (or lidi) and ukur badan kucing from its nose to the tip of its tail, and then lepas tu cucuk that stick to a place to mark as the toilet.

Orang-orang tua cakap, kucing akan berak kat tempat tu je.

Tapi whether hypothesis itu benar atau tidak, saya tidak tahu biggrin.gif

Tried it.

It doesn't work.

Elf, I got the verdict for using Breeders Celect but from my husband's point of view lah cuz he's the one doing the cleaning, later I post about it smile.gif

Okay elf, after finishing 1 pack of the Breeders Celect, my husband says he doesn't like it.

He says between Breeders Celect and Litter Star, he much-much more prefers Litter Star. He says it's hard to scoop cuz the pieces of Breeders Celect are bigger and will not fall through the scoop punya holes which will end up buang a lot more of the Breeders Celect everytime cleaning.

He also said that breeders Celect does not cover the smell very well(which is kindda true cuz I can smell it...) It doesn't dry up as it should... But on this matter I think the weather plays a huge role since Breeders Celect is made of recycled papers and our weather is currently rainy and damp most of the time. That's why it doesn't dry up and cover the smell...

My husband insist that we switch back to Litter Star since the Breeders Celect is finish, however there is some sort of stock/shipment problem with Litter Star thus it is not available at all the regular places I can find it... Pening looking for it yesterday rclxub.gif Clay type is definitely a No-No to us... then the other crystal type brand is Karlie Percato which is more expensive and not worth it for the amount... So I convinced my husband to try OKO...

Yup, I bought OKO then since no Litter Star, don't want Breeders Celect, don't want clay type...

After 1 night, my husband said OKO is not bad and he prefers it than Breeders Celect... He also said that since the particals are smaller, it's easier to scoop for cleaning... Covering smell wise, not sure yet... But the one disadvantage I can see now is that since the particals are smaller and light weight, it flies out of the tray when they dig and making a bit of a mess around the tray area sweat.gif

Anyway, that's the conclusion for Breeders Celect then smile.gif

Will try and see further about OKO, baru 1 night cuba smile.gif

thanks for the good reviews smile.gif

i do still prefer OKO plus the clumping type. expensive but last longer. it won't get that hard as a clay type of litter. very soft like a jelly. and eliminate odor very well, but u will smell the kayu kayu stuff lah, like buying IKEA product eheheheh.
*

You're welcome!

I bought just the OKO, not OKO Plus cuz my husband said mahal sangat juz for a clumping one. So far the OKO works as great, I dunno how the clumping will be, but with OKO the particals do stick and cover the poo still smile.gif

I loveee IKEA wood stuff smell wink.gif

ouch the green OKO will not clump. i bought this last 2 weeks. and i don't like it. It become ashes, like debu debu! so much different from OKO Plus the red one.

odor different, OKO plus eliminate more than the OKO type. like breeder celect, OKO the green one didnt clump, so sometimes i have to remove the good one aswell, due too mixing wet and dry..  shocking.gif
*

I see...

Mebbe only 1 night use, it seemed okay...

The clumping is more for the pee lah izit?

Normally the 10kg will last you how long? 1 month?

I see. Thanks for the explanation.

I will see how OKO goes then.

OKO (green as you say), 10 liter is RM25.90 and OKO Plus, 10 liter is RM42.90

Hmm, I think what you meant with OKO not clumping one will turn out to be like Breeders Celect just soaked with the pee...

I will see how this one goes and if Litter Star is not available, I will try OKO plus pulak and see the difference.

If 10 liter bag can last 1 month plus for 3 cats, it should be good for my only 2 smile.gif

Incidentally, i have quite a few male friend who are gay. For some reason most of them are craaazy about dogs, especially toy dogs.
It is true that women will appreciate a man who likes cats ( or any non macho pet ) because then they know the guy is confident enough to show their gentle and kind side.
Guys who like macho pets are sometimes (not always) insecure and trying too hard to prove something  laugh.gif
