the preamp thing is automatically activated when u press the phone button.

someone tested with a CD player optical vs coax and said that the coax sounds better....forgot who. i think it was scottie...

anyway. i did the same test with my ESI Maya44.

optical cable that came with the zero vs DIY Canare Coaxial cable. both plugged in the same time and i tested by pressing the switch on the front of the ZERO.

no discernable difference.


BUT.. a colleague of mine borrowed my cheapo optical cable for his PS3 + HTiB. then he recently just bought a phillips RM199 optical cable. and he says the difference between the cheapo cable and the phillips is HUGE.

tried with Senn HD650 (300ohm) n yes can push no problem... my DT990 is 250ohm so no problem. 600ohm dunno.

synergy is ok with my DT990. but i listen to metal, so the stock headamp is a lil too laid back for me. i ended up using my battery cute ii amp connected to the zero.

and the zero does NOT come with RCA cables.

no coaxial....only cheap ass optical.

coaxial converter? convert to wat? u need the rca-mini to connect from zero to predator.

ur laptop spdif is coaxial? then u just need a coaxial to coaxial cable to connect from laptop to zero then rca-mini to predator. if its optical then can use the optical cable that comes with the zero
