dude that bios is just a 45nm temp fix
i am in direct contact with dfi FAE and Asus FAE in taiwan
so trust me when i say i tried every option there is
i even manage to ask asus taiwan to lend dfi fae a 3870x2 top..
and dunno what happened but some mis communication in a loss email dfi thought they were not getting it
and ended up getting 2 3870x2 from ati.. DUMBASSES
told them from the beggining that the reference card works..
and luckily asus/dfi has been ccing me all their emails..
so i had a copy and forwarded it back to dfi fae for their contact window to open..

thats y.. so frust..
i hate this card the gx2.. only good in gaming fps.. boosting games that already high on fps..

that day when eric came to my house with his whole rig to test
when i saw the card work.. sishh never felt like want to cekik somebody as much as that..

Yaaaahooooooo! RMAed my GA-P35-DS3 v1.0 and got back a new mobo v2.0!! rclxms.gif

See back panel - 8 USB ports.... shocking.gif (v1.0 only had 4 USB ports, IIRC)

Frankly speaking, I still like this mobo.... all solid caps, 6-phase PWM, Ultra Durable 2 features, etc.....

its definitely possible... last time i RMA an old 40gb Maxtor IDE hdd and i get 80gb Maxtor IDE hdd back...... that happens when they are forced to replace it but dont have stock for it.. so they will replace a newer version or better 1 for u...
