Just bought a new Gigabyte Nvidia 7950GX2 from a forumer. I know that even Nvidia 7 series GC is getting to be obsoleted nowadays, but I think this model still perform quite well in the decent gaming.

full set of 2900XT still got half life 2 inside?.....heh u really buy this 2900XT.....alot ppl suggest u buy 3870 de heh

Personally, I find 2900XT performs with more stable frame rate than 3870 ...

I felt when shifting to single 3870 where game isn't as smooth as before. .

just a minor difference but it's noticeable ..

how much you buy for the 7950GX2 ?

hmm I have used 2900XT for 7 months and 3870 for 2 months and 3870 Crossfire for a week.

I could firmly said that 2900XT is better in term of average frame rate .. smaller fluctuation compared to 3870.

3870 has bigger fluctuation between highest to lowest frame per second.

especially in higher resolution game ... however it has higher maximum frame rate compared to 2900XT...

Anyway, there's no such thing as which one is better for both of it ..

each has it's own pro and con .. buyer could choose what they want to buy from various element .. not just single element only..

is it because 3870 is running DirectX10 while 2900XT running DirectX9?

huh...2900xt also runs on Dx 10. Who told u 2900XT DX 9 -.-"
