I receive a sad news just now. Kena tiaow cukup cukup tadi meeting di JKR. I laugh quietly because of I couldn't counter two pronged attack.

I'm forced to assist them tomorrow until night, if everything is well I will be back ngam ngam for the race. Off for practice tonight as well. Have to prepare for a possible three pronged attack tomorrow. I better built up some defense tonight and strengthen some armory in the morning for the battle in the afternoon. tongue.gif

Congrats pitt, mara was unlucky. Saw the gap just now, it was cruel. Hakkinen spain like disaster.

Mara beautiful pics, it's like a professional race photographer quality. You have an eye for a picture. Great job man. I never liked the screenshot of rfactor this much. I adore them, like the one you have in our website.

It seems like the angle was from outside the track where real photographer took their pics. It's not like in game taken from in game angles.

F1RFT 2008 1.0 - Released
To be honest, I was not sure if I should post this as something still smells fishy about this mod. On the other hand, our friends over at DrivingItalia.net posted it, that gave me the confidence to do the same

The 2008 Formula One season starts in less than two weeks, still the first mod simulating the 2008 season has been released. F1RFT features all cars of the 2008 season and is probably what die-hard F1 fans are looking for. Those of you who can't wait to play with the 2008 cars should try this, don't get scared away from the Hungarian-speaking set-up.

For now, I´ve made a few screenshots. Later today, I will have an in-depth look on this mod and its surprisingly quick development.

Good job pitt,

Guys, sori this week a bit bz, it will ease off next week.

I will attend the jamuan. No problem, dekat giler. Unless they send me to far away trip to .......... Site. I'm a junior, it's all me and myself plus the company never want to hire expert seniors. Budget cost since our government is incapable of managing our country resources that well thus making every prices of goods become so exorbitant. So much for the radio advertisement. tongue.gif

Pitt I check the mod, I have to say it's the best out there. No doubt. I was surprised. It's immediately better than MMG 2007.

I will have more time to run it and give assesment. Btw that 3d arm was cool. But how to remove it, bcos it block my view.

I have tested Barcelona and Sepang. I must say I think we have found what we want. I;m surprised by this capable group. Who are they and why they are not available at rfactorcentral. It would easily be HOF for me.

Testing report,

1. The track pack

-Fuji Speedway to be dropped and replaced bu Fuji Speedway from Katsuo.
-Shanghai ISI to be dropped and replaced by Raceking version of Shanghai.
-Spa to be dropped as its resembles 1988 version more than the recent one, we will use former SPA version of FSONE.
-Istanbul to be dropped and replaced by version pitt, me and maranello had tested way back earlier.

I will have more time to test the track, I will report my findings. So far this is my initial suggestion of the track pack.

As for the mod, I'm too quick to judge MMG and I'm too quick too judge F1rft. So far this is what I found about F1rft,

1. The cockpit detail is terrible, this is where it falls very short to MMG, sense of immersion is a bit of letdown in this department.
2. Physics, the car is slidish in nature and quite light. But this will be further tested. Initial long runs suggests that MMG is a bit better in natural feelings of the car. It's more like a tweaked FSONE physics to me.
3. External model of the car is great. The sound needs a replacement from MMG internal and external improved version where edison posted earlier.
4. Realfeel is working fine, But vibration over undulation didn't match the forces on the steering rack that well.
5. It's the latest season man, what is more better than running the current season, But can you drive a not perfected F1 car?

MMG :

1. Brilliant modelling as we know.
2. Physics is okay so far, once you are getting used to it, its quite a nice car to drive. But there is some fishy things in setting up department. I will test the wings and setup in a long run and I will provide feedbacks regarding how the two responds to setup changes.
3. So far many is upset about MMG because of the high expectations, I can have some physics from you know league and maybe if the things don't work out for MMG physics we can have it replaced with the one I have.
4. Realfeel is perfect.
5. 2007? A one year older than the current. Hmmm. If it's good do we mind?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

MAN

Have you guys tested the new Ferrari MOD, It is awesome, perfect, the menu, the upgrades, all mods should have copy from this mod. It's awesome. One day we must have a one off event for this car.

Responding to ur findings...

F1rft

1. Agreed....I drive with my steering wheels off...so the legs are teribble! I dont mind the cockpit much...i dont look at them as much...but yes...compared to MMG counterpart....its horrible.
2. I love the physics....although it is very oversteery at first (with my FSONE controller settings and default RealFeelFFB) and super-tyre-locking brakes, some reduction to the brake pressure, front wings and steering locks fix them instantly. It is almost true to the principal of V8 cars takes the corners at higher speed. It think F1RFT fits that well. Although it is abit easier to achieve than MMG, The car behaviour after the apex can be a little bit naughty. But that can be fix with throttle sensitivity or some ARB adjustments.
3.There is seems to be a slight anti-aliasing issue with the external view. It is the most jagged looking car in rfactor ever. And with the Ferrari external view, the rear wing seems to drop its height at the certain distance from the camera. In modelling terms, the Level Of Detail (LOD - similar to autofps, just this one for the complexity of the model) is a bit weird.
4. No complaint in the RealFeelFFB department for me.
5. I dont know if its perfected or not...If youre refering to the honesty of the 2008 modelling and physics to the real-life F1 counterparts, i think we will never know. (unless the guys in DINIX have the F1 test session data LOL). But so far the car is good to drive and no major issues IMHO.

MMG :

1. Agreed - no comments for me wutsoeva.
2. I havent got the chance to play with the setup yet. Will do later. But the default setting is drivable without much tweak i think.
3. Great idea...always have plan B.........or C
4. Agreed...no comments.
5. I wont mind LOL..

288 gto??? Downloading now!
*
So far, I have to conclude the F1rft physics is better than MMG as far as the driving pleasure is concerned.

Mara, the MMG is drivable without setup tweak, but setup tweak will determine whether the physics responds logically to the changes made.

Anti-aliasing issue, yes. I notice. Realfeel I can tweak the smoothing and it's all done ok.

I need more thorough testing. Then we will decide. So far, my mood is swinging in F1rft camp to be honest. But MMG is a good base mod only physics needs tweaking.

Great great race....PCcrazy's pace was mesmerising. He rose from 24 secs to only 6 secs between me and him at the finish line. What cause u to lose 2nd place?

Added on March 15, 2008, 12:34 amI dont have race logs or replays...so anyone is free to upload the replay or race log.

Im rectifying my error prob by re-installing realfeel. Hope this will work.

First of all, congrats mara. Your pace also was mesmerizing. It cos me to commit errors while pitting. I push the wrong button for pit limiter. I have slowed down and push the button. I tot okay this is it. Battle between mara n me will presume after the pit stop. Suddenly the pit limiter was not working. I got a drive thru. So that is the end of it.

Overall a great great race. But I eat your dust and it's not tasty.

Edison great race for you. No need to quit MSR anymore. You really climb yourself in the middle. Kudos. After this is a nightmare track where the walls for sure will punish those who are not conservative. I know I will hit the walls few times in the race. The walls is too beautiful, I taught I'll give it a scratch or two as a mark of MSR.

O dear. Thats not good. Ur button broke or u misassigned? After I saw u drop back (i havent got Spotter installed so i didnt know u pitted) I drop the pace but was unable to pick it back up. Strange but i think my tyres gone too cold. I change to med fronts last minute coz i thot soft fronts were to slippery, plus i lost lots of time in practice at the end of stints.

Added on March 15, 2008, 1:37 amEdison is doing a great job. Keep it up bro....Looks like the 'job' is really giving u PAWAH...LOL

A little misunderstanding when i was lapping Cyborg just before my first pitstop. We were side by side and i was hesitant to take the corner with him on the inside line, without any sign of him slowing down. So i ran wide...the 6 secs gap i build to PCcrazy was gone.

U see thats the problem. Its very hard to run on races with someone u dont know (their driving and attitude). But i think it'l build with time.

Actually I miss push the button. It seems I forget. Bcos it has been sometimes since I've completed racing runs. My race craft is getting nervy under pressure.

No wonder you are quite off the pace in the second stint. In my first stint I was too cautious. But the understanding of the tyres grew and I know my tyres can last until the end even though I push like crazy. So I started putting in some banzai, saw the gap was steady between you and me. Then saw you are about to lap backmarker. I know this could be my chance. So I increase the pace and you did some drama and I was back in contention until that mistake.

My setup was amazingly predictable, there is not the slightest clue of tyres wearing out. It stays steady all along.

As for the trust, you need to be racing wheel to wheel with that same person many many times to understand his behavior. Not all drivers tend to act and think the same way. Every driver is unique. So when I'm putting charge behind someone in a real race, I tried to see how he takes his line and that provides me with strategies of how to attempt an overtaking maneuver. But sometimes it's just a bad day at the office.

But I concur the defeat to you to your true pace. Looking forward to next battle.

Its okay.

I have few laps at Macau today. Hmm, in Qualifying trim, if you hit the barrier at several spot to stop the car quickly without using proper brake, you can end up faster by few seconds. Hihi. So expect few guys doing a Need For Speed Style Qualifying to get in front of the grid. Physics allow for that. Although I'm against this but the virtual world doesnt agree with me. tongue.gif

Anyway, this is only my initial observation seeing my banzai crooked lap ended up faster than my clean conservative lap. Wait until I master the track will I only know if my above statement still holds water.

Because we are running on 50% damage that is. 100% damage wouldn't allow for such many dates with the walls. But I believe it will not interfere with the race. So no changes will be necessary. Just pointing out my findings nonetheless.

Mara what are you doing still not sleeping. Taking track time. Unfair. While people are sleeping, you are finding the correct damper setting to take turn 5 at blinding speed.

You are pushing the game too far. It's tiring for me to go to every track with full commitments to take the win. tongue.gif But when I did it's a really good feeling all day.

Actually we are running 25% damage this season. And no, i havent touch the wheels today. I cant remember the last time i practice offline. If i were to do practice, i would do it online with you guys.
LOL...i'll note that turn 5 hihi.

Im lucky to have the time to commit (coz my job allows me to). Hihi the win at Brno didnt leave me with really good feeling all day coz I let u shave seconds in the closing stint. Im not happy winning like that. But im still grateful LOL. But aint it fun like that? Having a competitive environment? Im having fun...LOL
*
The second stint, the gap I saw reducing I thought was a controlled gap. I never knew that you change to medium fronts. Which is obviously will never be a good choice here no matter what. You need the car to turn in into the apex, some corners were difficult even on softs let alone mediums. But mediums were needed at the back to reduce the wear and temp due to playing a slight oversteer to change direction of the car to propel itself out of corner with a straight line. That is why sometimes if this is done aggressively we will start to slide everywhere. The temp is hot even on mids and I cant imagine getting softs on the rears.

But I regret being too conservative on my tyres in the first stint in order to sustain the tyres when the fuel is light. The setup so far in all the races I had participate is the most kindest wear rates I have ever experienced. I was surprised and the second stint, even though I had some moments here and there, it's still easy to clock 2.00.xxx. When I see backmarkers I drop to 2.01 which is still a pretty good lap.

Overall, you still win. Had not you gone for the mid fronts, the gap will be quite huge. And that quali lap was awesome. It was in the late 58s. I had no answer to that. The fastest I think I might be able to clock that day if all my sectors were to be string together was only early 59s. And we know that it's impossible to have your best lap in 3 laps allowable qualy session. You tend to be careful in sensitive sectors.

But I had a lot of pressure from pitt early on and we touch a bit but no damage. It was fun being the defenders sometimes. I long for the fight with Acid but he made a mistake so I regret not be able to have the opportunity putting up some mano o mano with him. He's fast like hell in a chapalang wheel. G25 would propel him to a new heights or momo would have done him a good justice.

Yup, agreed. G25 has one huge advantage at u-turn where you need cross arm rotation.

But that section is too slow to penalize the time on momo users. But still I have the advantage over there.
