There's no such thing as loyal customers for toy shops la, all the shops are selling the same el-cheapo, bad QC plastic toys, there's no product differentiation whatsoever... For toys, the most important things are price and availability...
But can UITM students afford to buy so much TFs or not? unsure.gif
Yes, it will be like LYP, lots of toy shops at one place, good for consumers, and healthy competition...
1U's rent is too darn high...

Bro do not underestimate student's, these guys are rich men.

Example KOKP, Laici and there are alot of dude's out there tongue.gif

That's StarGek (Tamiya Underground), the owner is a long-time friend of mine... His shop is now the official distributor for Tamiya in M'sia... He's M'sia's Tamiya distributor, that's why his shop can survive...

Hmmm, I'll have to ask him first loh... hmm.gif

At first was targetting that area, but due too transportation access ( no lrt ) and it's inside PJ....

That's why i'm thinking of 3 places to choose:D

Are u going to sell your collection also? finally, a chance to rape neosan's MISB TF toys. hehe. me support u all the way man. Ancorp would be nice. we can often visit u woo.

QUOTE(iman_210 @ Jan 25 2008, 09:42 PM)
open 1 in shah alam dude..with the upcoming lrt line m sure a toyshop in shah alam would entail huge benefits
*
Shah alam would be a good place too but u need a strategic place with all those roundabouts. hehe. Iman, are u from shah alam?

QUOTE(samus_ng @ Jan 25 2008, 10:23 PM)
Bro Neosan, Amcorp Mall yang paling strategik lah biggrin.gif , lemme provide some reasons:
1) Easily accessible by Federal highway or even LRT
2) Lots of parking spaces, no headache like MV and SS2 area
3) There are already 2 toy shops there, one that opens once in a blue moon, other one goreng their "rare" items to hell, YOU can change that.
4) Toy collectors are bound to visit Amcorp since there are so many toy shops there, there is a market for toys in amcorp.
5) Heck even gatherings are held near amcorp tongue.gif
6) Toywiz was a huge success at Amcorp, you can do it too.
7) Cheaper rent!!!
and the best one
8)I CAN CYCLE THERE WOOT biggrin.gif

Samus is right. hope he doesn't bring his Rott to force neosan to give more discount. hehe.

Price, variety of toys selection. which means not only concentrate on one line of toys only.

I suggest that he opens some sort of club for the shop. Impose a fee of maybe RM20+ and members enjoy discounts, free gathering admission(should it be free to everyone? I'm not sure bout this), also maybe he can serve some light food and drinks, so basically can eat and discuss collectibles with frens at any day, any time.

Perhaps u can put up photos of known scalpers at ur shop, so that collectors can recognize them... And if those scalpers come to your shop to buy anything, u refuse to do business with them... brows.gif

the best thing is to cater what XL,GT and TM does..
not only completed models but also pla-models...
prolly hobby supplies as well but it all depends on location as well..
if the place u wanna open got no shops that sells hobby supplies, u can add in to your business as well...
some of us like building model kits...
dont go all at once lar, u can start with only completed models and pla-models...
once the demand for hobby supplies is there, u can slowly add in...

No problemo bro. we all support u. i have another idea. how about if u create a website/blog for your toyshop? so that your customer can easily get new information regarding your stocks, new arrival toys and so much more. u can also give information such as what's new and what's coming up later in your toy shop. just a suggestion though. icon_rolleyes.gif

If he opens the shop at amcorp, selling Gundam would be a very wise thing to do since no other shop is doing so. Hobby supplies is a great idea too, maybe can do kitbashes at his toy "cafe", great place for collectors to hang out and share experiences. smile.gif
