Hmm..... but I really think the charts in Japan are seriously heavily affected by the idol popularity rather than their songs

what happen to Kana Nishino, Aoyama Thelma, Utada, Ayumi, Soulja, etc etc
I know

Most of the top 10's now are mostly idol stuff. Even SNSD right now is based on popularity... I just wish people like Soulja and Aoyama Thelma will get more recognition because thats what I call talent... Well Kana,Utada and Ayumi is rather popular in Japan still

Wow.. I've always said that in Japan theres all types of different music and artistses that you can't find anywhere in the world. I was right.
Them Japanese are always able to come up with something new and creative. Or weird and crazy just to entertain. And I wonder why some people get bored of Japanese music. Just look at the chart. You get a mixed bag of stuffs from movie/drama/anime OST, porn stars/TV hosts/actors singing, visual kei, idols, enka, instrumental bands, kindergarten/kids song, fictional characters, I could go on. Now you tell me where else can you find that much variety.
You just gotta look at the right places to find the good stuff.
Very nicely said! So diversified and yet those teenagers say k-pop more fun compared to "boring" Japanese Music. K-pop is so idolised right now and its becoming boring
