QUOTE(buffa @ Jan 8 2015, 05:20 PM) Hi, I am driving xc60 3.0 year 2009, CBU. I never drive 2.0, so I not sure the difference. Power wise for 3.0 , it is more than enough for me. I hardly need to tekan pedal to max. but drink petrol quite a lot la. when the petrol price was rm2.1/L, drive below 3000rpm most of the time (start moving from stop) , around RM0.285/km A very useful info indeed. Thanks for the experience sharing bro. Currently secondhand price for 3.0 & 2.0 is not much difference. Of coz in term of power the 3.0 is better. I'm just worried on the maintenance parts. Any other issues that I should concerns when shop for one? Maintenance cost, because it is 20k km/1 year, so if you compare to other brand's 10k/15k services, it is reasonable for a conti car. IINM 3.0 use more engine oil. Cause there was once after services, the signal shows engine oil critically low, at the end they come to my house and top up. And said they made a mistake, thought mine is 2.0, so add in 2.0's engine oil. As for the problem, never really had any major problem (already 150k km running). Minor problem that I faced, or issues you should check for the car 1) both my headlight clip are broken a bit after 5 years, still usable but if you really push the headlight, it will move a bit, change a new one cost RM5000, as long when driving I dont feel the light is goyang-goyang so I dont bother (to change). 2) Engine mounting, there are total 5 engine mountings for my car, 1 was broken, 2 were nearly broke, so I change all 5 of them, cost me RM2000 plus. 3) Wiper, RM269 (ya I know expensive), but that is after 4 years plus using the original wiper. Thats all the thing I change other than that just normal services every 20k km in between having major services according to schedule. I did all services in federal auto, so if you decide to source from outside, might be cheaper. Thanks a lot. |

IINM in Malaysia only the 3.0 T6 have AWD. The 2.0 are FWD, I discover this when surveying to buy new volvo. I'm Quite dissapointed and endup not buying it. Dont think currently Volvo Malaysia are selling any new AWD XC60. Only pre-owned 3.0 t6 have AWD. Again IINM, the only AWD Volvo car that Volvo Malaysia selling are XC90. Others like V40 or V40 cross country, V60 and XC60 all FWD. It SAD however do correct me if any of my post are incorrect. |

I believe it's sufficient(but I did not test drive it), The engine are 2.0 turbocharge 4 inline (not T5) and it's front wheeled drive. Still produced 200hp. They are using engine based on ford ecoboost 2.0 . Some volvo tend to share parts with ford. For my volvo s40 water expansion tank literally got "Ford Motor Corp" written under it. but not sure with my XC90 though (never change it).If you want to be sure, why not go for a test drive. |

My noob knowledge, 2.0+turbo producing 200hp is common, like japs cars.. yeah body is 2.3 tonnes but it can carry it.. maybe u not plan to race the car with it. Old model like 240 with 1.8 tonnes body weight, got much lower hp, N/A around below 130hp but still can have a safe and fun ride.. latest model have better power of course.. but so far I'm stick to old models, it's cheap to own for a poor man like me If you want to be sure, why not go for a test drive. Is it better to own a hassle-free brand new XC60 wt 555 package & new engine technology or opt for pre-reg older model but save more than rm100k++...
hhmmm, tough decision... |

QUOTE(Iamsellingstuff @ Jan 13 2015, 05:00 PM) @lamir_loco, I think you are right. I understand that all current local models in Volvo are all FWD... Ive not seen AWD? CheckBut with FWD, my volvo tend to have back sway, especially when taking corners and the sway is much more obvious when going on any roundabouts with small bumps. When hitting these small bumps, Me and my passengers can feel the behind of the car floating and swaying sideways at around 50kmh. I dunno if its a defect in design or something's wrong with my S60. Any Sifu's can advice? 1. alignment 2. any unnecessary sampah you are carrying in the boot |

I suggest check the undercarriage, might be something wrong, my s40 (also fwd) don't have that problem. But with FWD, my volvo tend to have back sway, especially when taking corners and the sway is much more obvious when going on any roundabouts with small bumps. S60 is a good and sporty car, shouldn't have this issue, need to check on your rear suspension ( shock absorbers / spring ), all bush and also sway/anti-roll bar condition..But with FWD, my volvo tend to have back sway, especially when taking corners and the sway is much more obvious when going on any roundabouts with small bumps. Any Sifu's can advice? my experience on my previous 240, it's because of worn out rear shock absorbers, replace it and problem solved! |
