about 3K per year, on service only. average service costing 1K to 3K per 20000KM

Volvo is a great car, my house currently 3 Volvo already. But its a bit lonely on road cause not much volvo owner.

95% driving around town still gets 400km fulltank? That is awesome for a 2.5 litre car

Similar to BMW. All normal services are above RM1k.

Not sure if you are going to service the car in Federal Auto or outside. Though I would think it may be around RM5k+/- or more. When under the maintenance package(for XC60), the 1st year's service is a low RM1.3k+ but the 2nd service in the 2nd year comes up to about RM2.3k. Not too sure about the S40 but if servicing in Federal Auto I think you might need to get ready a sum of RM2k+ for normal services, excluding wear and tear parts.

Maintenance of a Volvo is certainly not cheap.

which one? the used one? or the new one?

If the new ones, you can get the T5 is best among all, else if budget is an issue, T4 also can.

But once you start to drive a S60, i affraid your brother wont want to come out of the car. Keep on driving. Cause it is damm nice.

Now ALL the new volvo come with free services for 5 years. Great deal, imagine only parts wear and tear, all other thing under 5 year you dont have to pay a cent, not even engine oil etc.

Btw, my xc60 services cost RM1k, it is 20k km or 1 year. Compare to other brand, 10k km or 6 mth, RM400++ more or less the same.

awaiting for S60 facelift. saw the v60 facelift on the road around shah alam the other day.

ya, actually if not urgently need a new car, might as well wait for volvo new engine. One of the volvo mechanic told me they been sent to KL there to briefed about new engine, 2.0L, 8 speed, 300 hp. He dint say when, but I guess within 1 year time.

Mine is powershift, my mom drive s60 and a 240 is my dad's work car.

great family with volvo cars around. Mines also power shift as well, hate the jams especially, cause it jerks. But otherwise its fine for me.

Dream is to get a XC 60, and hope to get a XC 90 soon as well, well the old one.

Cause the new one, i think its a bit far for me.
