is there a way to check the motherboard of a psp without opening the cover?
and home brews dont work since it's not a cFW.

some lastest released psp 2k have the TA-088v3 boards in them that cant be modded as of yet...
dark_alex is no more la... it's m33~ i do custom firmware flashing ...*wink*wink* crash bandicoot 2 (psx) is about 126mb after conversion into eboot. silent hill (psx) is about 339mb after conversion. musashi.. i forgot lol, 300+mb i think. howerver, chrono cross & those rpg games will commonly be up to 400-500mb per disc after conversion to eboot. so it depends mostly on the games. additional info about psx games.. ah it'll be too long, i'm not like playboy.. so i'll do it on separate posts if u wanna know, just ask *wink* This post has been edited by benwong88: Nov 13 2008, 12:27 AM |

ouch yes sir.
that guy says it isn't a good idea to hack your psp because he's just afraid of the bricking phenomenon.. the whole 'sony hunting dark_alex' part was enough of a GENERAL idea to tell me that cFW is illegal. cFW is illegal, but homebrew applications are not This post has been edited by benwong88: Nov 14 2008, 11:21 AM |

QUOTE(irkuysm @ Nov 15 2008, 09:20 PM) PSP 3000 currently cant be hacked er... not all PSP 2k can be hacked.PSP 2000 the only that hacked. So if want buy,ask the taukeh which type u want. the last few batches that uses the TA-088v3 boards and above cannot be hacked.. yet. tried & tested and some tau keh like to tipu ppl.. don't trust them too much for the safest bet get the phat psp, psp 1k. on the contrary, there's this handy little thing called popsloader developed by m33 for psx games support. it can use the .prx files from old firmwares to run psx games (yes you can choose). u can actually choose which version of firmware (starting from 1.5 to 4.01) module to use for the psx games, example : 3.71 may have better support for crash bandicoot, etc.
here's mine. as u can see i only have the modules starting from 3.00, dint bother getting the older ones because newer firmwares already has some pretty good psx support. i just like to keep them around, just in case it doesnt really matter which firmware if you're using popsloader for it. all the homebrew apps i've tried so far are fine. even playboy's trick brick. and yes i'm using 5.00 m33-3 currently. i'm quite happy with it but if there's no need to update, don't do it. that's strange, i've always thought psp 200x & psp3k with the 088 boards are unhackable because of the tachyon/IPL thing.. not because of battery.

QUOTE(hagon81 @ Nov 20 2008, 10:46 PM) thanks for the answering guys go to the recovery menu (boot up hold R button) > configurationI have another question. im using CFW 500m33-3 i downloaded some demos from PSN but it cant play and given error 80010013 Anyone can help on this? and check if your game loading driver is set to m33. if it's original or OE etc you will need a umd in the drive to play. usually it resets to default (UMD needed) when u update. QUOTE(metalslayer @ Nov 21 2008, 07:36 AM) Hi bro, thanks for the reply . . Yes, i do confirm is stuck pixel aft i research in forum before this i really not familiar wit anything about psp . . But, my prob i not sure wat the seller say is trust or not ? I need somewan can ans me clearlyfier for my conversion . . I still no idea hw and wat suit i do since i bought only 1 week. sad to say there will be nothing u can do about except change the screen by your own cost. the shop will not do a THING, you can try all you want, but that's just a waste of time.they wont help u change for just 1 stuck pixel, and keep on saying u dint check properly when u bought it. in a way, that makes sense.. don't care if you don't know or a complete newbie, your loss. seems like alot of ppl getting a psp & dunno what to check, here goes : the basic things to check when getting a new psp is : 1. screen (dead/stuck pixel) 2. buttons (functioning, nothing stuck or watever) 3. exterior, case condition 4. umd slot 5. Memory stick slot 6. Wifi 7. USB port 8. speaker sound 9. firmware 10. battery i think that's it, take note & remember ppl. the most common problems would be 1,2, & 3. but just to make sure, check EVERYTHING. next time, if you really don't know anything, BRING a friend a long who knows. MS : Memory stick
post edited. currently the few that everyone favors is 3.90 m33-2 & 4.01 m33-2 for me i'm using 5.00 m33-2 for the psx games. testing & trying to run some. QUOTE(hagon81 @ Nov 21 2008, 08:48 AM) is yours phat or slim? for the phats, the 1.50 kernel is needed.if it's a slim, or even if it's the phat with the 1.5kernel it still doesnt work. take a look at this. it happened to me once after i flashed the thing to 4.01.. then i remembered i haven't installed the 1.5 kernel on my phat yet http://my.afterdawn.com/larrylje_redwings/..._entry.cfm/2318 in short, here are my notes : 1. make sure game is in ms0:/ISO 2. shorten the file name 3. (on pc) disable read only & hidden in file properties 4. (recovery menu) configuration > umd > no umd m33 driver 5. (recovery menu) advanced > advanced configuration > Plain modules in UMD/ISO [disable] Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO [disable] XMB plugins [enable] GAME plugins [enable] POPS plugins [enable] 6. exit, restart & try again. good luck credits to : larrylje {afterdawn.com} This post has been edited by benwong88: Nov 21 2008, 01:55 PM |

QUOTE(juyut @ Nov 22 2008, 01:56 AM) does every game support cfw 5.00m33-3?..or we have to 'try n error'?..which game file is better...cso or iso?..need sum advise from da expert YES to umd games that are in ISO/CSO format.NO to home brews. (home made games) or atleast a certain few. ISO is the uncompressed file of the game. CSO is the compressed one, so by theory ISO games should load faster, but CSO saves space as it shaves off about 20%+ of capacity of the game. CSO still works, although faster or not we really don't know. an extra second or 2 to wait won't kill. most wouldn't mind. overall it would be CSO ftw. |
